Arvind Foundation is committed to providing compassionate care and support to children, adolescents, and adults with special needs from disadvantaged Read morebackgrounds. The Foundation caters to individuals with diverse diagnoses, including conditions such as Cerebral palsy, Autism, ADHD, Down's syndrome, and other physical, cognitive, and neurological disorders. With a vision to foster an inclusive society, it strives to create a nurturing environment where individuals with special needs are embraced and valued as equal members. Its primary goal is to offer exhaustive services to over 500 children and young adults through early intervention, holistic curative education, customised therapies, and vocational training programmes. By equipping these individuals with the necessary skills, the Foundation aims to foster their independence, self-sufficiency, and ability to secure meaningful employment. It adopts a person-centred approach, recognizing the unique needs of each individual, and providing tailored support. Through its efforts, it aspires to empower individuals with special needs, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives and actively contribute to society.

Programs

Vocational Training & Livelihood Programme
Students above 14 years of age join the pre-vocational stream, while those 17 years and older participate in the vocational programme. These programmes equip them with skills for long-term livelihood. Vocational training includes computer education, office assistant training, cooking, woodworking, gardening, product making, tailoring, candle making, weaving, pottery, and arts and crafts. Functional academics, community visits, cultural events, and competitions are also part of the comprehensive training provided to the students.

Education Programme
The Foundation employs an individualistic and holistic approach, focusing on teaching children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Teachers aim to restore the balance between body, soul, and spirit through curative work. The daycare centre offers a school-like experience, including uniforms, while providing specialized and customised training. The programme encompasses therapy, medical assistance, special education, and academic support. Practical training in areas like carpentry, pottery, cooking, tailoring, and gardening is also offered. The education system promotes social skills, self-awareness, and maximizes students' potential.
