The Hariksha People's Welfare Trust, operating for over 8 years, provides aid to individuals, families, and communities grappling with various hardshi Read moreps such as poverty, orphanhood, abandonment, physical disabilities, and social deprivation. The Trust is grounded in ethical values and delivers standardized services to the marginalized, underscoring a dedication to humanity, service, and innovation. The motto "Be Human and Serve Human" is central to the Trust's mission, embodying a commitment to compassion and assistance. Born from the collaboration of individuals initially working independently, the realization dawned that forming an organisation could vastly enhance its impact on those in need. Hariksha's journey commenced by acknowledging the challenges faced by underprivileged children in Tiruvannamalai's slums, leading to a focus on providing education as a fundamental entitlement. The Trust launched initiatives to support educational requirements for children and established a Play School catering to the children of working women, offering a nurturing environment. Moreover, Hariksha conducts awareness programmes for children with physical disabilities and actively participates in health campaigns such as Pulse Polio immunization.

Medical Assistance Programme
Children receive essential medical assistance for epilepsy and timely treatment for various ailments. The provision of assistive devices like callipers, crutches, special shoes, and equipment such as parallel bars, corner chairs, wheelchairs, and walkers enhances their mobility. Regular medical camps, including general health check-ups by physicians, dental care, and eye assessments, contribute to their overall well-being. Collaborative efforts during general medical camps in May and August involve physician visits (116) to address various health issues and ensure appropriate treatments for the children.

Career Training Programme
Conducting crafts and art training serves a dual purpose by uncovering both innate and developing talents in children. This initiative not only identifies their artistic and creative abilities but also functions as an introductory vocational training session. The training involves crafting materials, such as exquisite wall hangers and flower pots. Older children are guided to create beautiful wall hangers using ice sticks and flower vases with mud pots. The painted mud pots adorned with artificial stones or "chumki" showcase their acquired skills in this vocational training effort.
