Isha Education has been founded by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and aims to empower children, especially underprivileged rural children, to access affordabl Read moree quality education. It manages ten rural schools under the umbrella of Isha Vidhya schools, nine in Tamil Nadu and one in Andhra Pradesh. The schools deliver education in the English medium and use innovative methods of teaching to equip rural children to meet future challenges. The Isha Home School is a residential school offering junior, middle and senior levels of education with the latest facilities and dynamic teaching methods. On reaching the senior level of schooling children are prepared for the CISCE examinations.

Isha Vidhya rural schools transform the lives of over 8500 children, 47% of them being girls. Besides academics, many students have achieved excellence in sports and extra-curricular activities and made a mark in these fields. Government School Support Programme: 76 government schools in Tamil Nadu, benefiting over 20,000 students and 450 teachers, 2770 government schools in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, benefiting over 120,000 children and 6800 teachers, Over 60% of remedial students mainstreamed within one year of intervention, Marked improvement in 10th standard pass rates, A distinct improvement in student and teacher English language skills, 95% of teachers shared that they will be able to create a happier classroom as a result of Isha Vidhya’s training.


  • Government School Adoption Programme

    The Isha Education initiative also adopts Government run schools to transform them into good literary centres. It has adopted 34 schools across four districts of Tamil Nadu attempting to address concerns such as unmotivated teachers and poor English skills leading to below-par learning outcomes.

    Its interventions include a happy classroom workshop for teachers to upgrade teachers with the latest teaching skills and classroom management, remedial classes to help students catch up with studies, a special English programme to focus on improving language capability and additional activities like yoga, sports, health awareness, environmental awareness and career guidance.

  • Isha Home School – Talent Exploration Day(TED) Programme

    The Isha Home School encourages students to pursue their passions besides academics and sets aside time every week for this activity. Students can choose a topic of interest and focus their attention on learning about it during the time under guidance from mentors. The students are supposed to present a report to the TED committee for evaluation.

  • Isha Home School – Periscope

    Is a cultural festival that is for the students by the students and gives an opportunity to present their talents and includes cultural events like a poetry slam, master chef, graffiti, fashion design, Isha idol, debate, declamation, whose line is it anyway?, crime scene investigation (CSI) and marketing, all leading to the development of hidden talent and confidence in the students.

  • Isha Home School – Internship Programme

    This programme offers an opportunity to students in grades ten and twelve, to be a part of any department within the school and gain practical experience in their areas of interest. These students act as assistants to the faculty and are offered privileges according to their level of responsibility.

    This opportunity creates a sense of accountability, self-reliance and strong work ethics, which are requisite and essential skills as they prepare themselves for the next phase of their lives.

  • Isha Vidhya Rural Schools

    The Isha Vidhya Rural Schools are spread over different districts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Each is specifically equipped to teach first-generation and underprivileged children of the rural regions and cater to over 8,500 such children. To keep it affordable the children are not charged any fees with those who can afford it, being charged a subsidized fee.

    The teaching curriculum features activity-based and multi-sensory learning methods, discussion-based and interactive classes, emphasises language fluency, provides rich libraries, print, audio and computer materials and completely digital classrooms. The extra-curricular activities include healthy mid-day meals, regular medical check-ups, sports and daily yoga practices and environmental awareness sessions.
