Isha Outreach is an initiative of the Isha Foundation founded by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. It works primarily in Southern India and mobilises over two m Read moreillion people to execute carefully planned projects for the betterment of the environment, spread education, provide healthcare and benefit the community as a whole.

Impact

7500 villages covered in south India, 11.3 million people impacted, 5.2 million patients treated, 41,407 players competed in Gramotsavam 2018, with 1063 farmers forming the biggest FPO in Tamil Nadu, 486 toilets constructed and 92,520 people learning yoga.

Programs

  • Isha Vidhya

    It manages ten rural schools under the umbrella of Isha Vidhya schools, nine in Tamil Nadu and one in Andhra Pradesh. The schools deliver education in the English medium and use innovative methods of teaching to equip rural children to meet future challenges.

    The Isha Home School is a residential school offering junior, middle and senior levels of education with the latest facilities and dynamic teaching methods. On reaching the senior level of schooling children are prepared for the CISCE examinations.

  • Action for Rural Rejuvenation

    To revive the villages and enrich villagers' lives, Isha Outreach launched the Action for Rural Rejuvenation(ARR) programme. The programme included treatment camps, Village themed events titled Gramotsavam, inter-village sports events, the creation of farmer-producer organisations, construction of toilets and imparting the merits of yoga among people.

  • Rally for Rivers

    This programme focuses on saving the rivers of India. Launched in 2017, Numerous public awareness campaigns were conducted to make the public aware of the depleting state of rivers mobilizing millions of people towards the cause. This programme proposes to give an ecological solution with economic benefits. The draft policy of the programme was handed over by the Founder of Isha to the Prime Minister of India at the conclusion of the campaign to give it a formal structure.

  • The Cauvery Calling Movement

    With a massive target of planting 242 crore saplings, this movement was initiated to revive a fast-drying Cauvery river, which is considered to be the lifeline of Southern India. It started modestly with a few hundred volunteers sowing around 6 million saplings over a period of twenty-two days in the Velliangiri hills and gained momentum after the 2019 Chennai floods, wherein the programme decided to intensify the plantation of trees along the river in farmlands. More than five crore saplings have been planted in a massive effort by the organisation to mobilise the people.
