For this Year End: Give a Survivor the Gift of a Safe Path Forward

Campaign by Imaara Survivor Support Foundation

Story

A survivor-led movement where healing meets justice.

The Crisis: 77% of Survivors Face Violence Alone

In India, 77% of survivors who experience violence never seek help. The reason isn't a lack of courage, it's a crisis of access. When a survivor searches for a shelter, a lawyer, or a counselor, they often find broken links, judgmental questions, or worse - silence. The search for safety becomes a labyrinth with no exit.

Our Solution: A Verified Lifeline, Co-Created by Survivors

Imaara is building the solution survivor by survivor. We don't just offer sympathy; we provide a verified, practical pathway to safety. We are manually building and vetting a comprehensive map of trustworthy resources - shelters that welcome all survivors, lawyers who specialize in domestic violence and gender violence cases, and mental health counselors trained in trauma-informed care. We ensure that when a survivor is ready to take that brave step, they find a real, functioning door to safety, not another dead end.

From training over 1,000 community members through workshops and lectures to recognize and safely interrupt violence, to supporting over 40 survivors across 3 countries, we’ve seen firsthand the difference it makes when someone has a clear, verified path to safety.

But the need is immense. And we need your help to build more of those pathways.

How Your Gift Creates Change

Your year-end contribution will be used to scale our life-saving resource mapping across 5 districts in Tamil Nadu. Here’s what your generosity makes possible:

  • ₹ 5,000 can help us vet and list 2 critical services, creating multiple options for survivors in crisis.
  • ₹ 15,000 can fund the local outreach and community trust-building in a new district, ensuring our map reaches those who need it.
  • ₹ 50,000 can fully launch the mapping process in a new district, putting us halfway to our goal for that community.
  • ₹ 1,00,000 can fully fund one entire district, building a complete and lasting safety net for thousands of women, men, and non-binary people.

Why Donate to Imaara?

  • Survivor-Led, Always: Our programs are designed and led by those with lived experience.
  • Tangible Impact: Every rupee goes towards creating a tangible, searchable resource that saves precious time and lives.
  • Systemic Change: We're not just providing a temporary fix; we're building the infrastructure for a more responsive support system.

A Note from Our Founder

"When a survivor decides to leave, it's often the most dangerous moment of their life. They deserves a system that responds with speed, trust, and verified support - not bureaucratic hurdles. This year, help us ensure that their search for safety ends in hope, not despair. Your gift is more than a donation; it's a lifeline."

— Rasika Sundaram, Founder

As the year closes, join us in creating a new beginning for survivors.

Your year-end gift funds critical resources for the year ahead.
