21 Bicycles, 21 Leaders, 20 Villages Transformed

The leaders of tomorrow are ready. They just need a way to get to class. In the remote villages of Gumla district in Jharkhand, a group of 21 bright, determined young people—our "Yuva Mitras" (Friends of Youth)—have been selected for a life changing opportunity. They have been chosen to join the Leadership Academy, an 8-month program designed to turn them into changemakers who will solve local problems, fight for development, and uplift their communities. But right now, their classroom is empty.

The Problem: Distance

The students are eager to learn, but the Leadership Academy in Dalmadih village of Gumla district is too far to walk to daily, and public transport is non-existent. Because of this, we have been forced to delay regular classes. While we are doing our best with field visits, these students are missing out on the intensive, collective training environment they need to thrive.

The Potential: What Happens When They Learn?

We know what these youth can achieve when they get access to this training.

• Look at Usha Nilima Bage, who overcame physical disabilities to become a "ray of hope" in her village, now leading child education drives and safety workshops.

• Look at the students of Jamtoli, who didn't just complain about a water crisis —they marched to the Panchayat, questioned the Mukhiya, and escalated a solution for 28 thirsty villages.

This is the impact our new batch of students is capable of—if only they can reach us.

 The Solution: Bicycles

We are raising funds to purchase 21 bicycles—one for each student in the new batch. A bicycle is more than just a mode of transport; it is a vehicle for education, empowerment, and community change.

• With a bicycle, a student travels from their village to the Academy.
• At the Academy, they learn governance, digital skills, and leadership.
• With those skills, they return to their village to solve water crises, support education, and lead development.

Our Goal

We need to raise Rs. 1,25,500 to procure 21 robust bicycles for the terrain of Basia Block.
