Help Avaniti Save the Childhood of the Kamar Community, an Endangered Tribe (PVTG)
Meet Manish: At just three years old, Manish from the endangered Kamar tribe lacked access to nutritious meals and early education. His village had no preschool options, leaving him vulnerable.
Meet Nimisha: A bright seven-year-old girl who loves school but often has to stay home to care for her younger siblings, including Manish, while their parents forage in the forest for survival.
Meet Chandkumari: A 19-year-old woman who dropped out of school in 9th grade. Like 9 out of 10 children in her community, she faced immense challenges due to the lack of early childhood care and education. Determined to make a difference, she dreams of a better future for the children in her village but doesn’t know where to start.
The Language Barrier: The Kamar community’s mother tongue, Kamari, is gradually becoming extinct. Children love speaking it at home, but there’s a lack of educational support to preserve this beautiful language.
The Struggles: The Kamar community faces numerous challenges, including lack of education, awareness, isolation from the mainstream community, and various forms of exploitation and discrimination. These issues make their lives more vulnerable, with no access to basic amenities such as education, nutrition, and health.
Avaniti is working on some of these issues through access to education, nutrition, and women empowerment that led to-
Manish’s Transformation: Thanks to Avaniti, Manish now has access to both education and healthy meals at a community-owned learning center.
Nimisha’s Relief: Nimisha can now attend school regularly as her younger siblings, including Manish, also attend the center.
Chandkumari’s Leadership: Chandkumari has become a community leader, running the center in her village and working with both children and community members.
Preserving Kamari: Our teaching methodologies promote the Kamari language alongside Chhattisgarhi, Hindi, and English, preparing children for school while developing their cultural identity.
How You Can Help
Running one center costs around ₹10,000 per month, with a per-child cost of approximately ₹660-670. This includes education, healthy meals, and learning and play materials. Avaniti runs four centres in four different villages to cater to 65-70 children of early age group. Two of our centres are on the verge of closing down due to the shortage of necessary resources by affecting 30-35 children.
Donate Today: Your contribution will directly support our community learning centres and provide essential resources for our programs.
Adopt a Centre: Our monthly cost for running a centre is approximately ₹10000. You can adopt a centre to help around 15-20 children.
Spread the Word: Share this message with your network to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the Kamar community.
Your support can help us save the childhood of these children! By contributing to our campaign, you can help us provide essential education and nutrition to children from the Kamar community, empowering them to build a brighter future.
