As a community-based NGO, we witnessed first-hand the negative impact that a lack of access to quality schooling options and development opportunities has on children and youth living in urban slum communities. Their future choices and livelihood are put at risk just because of the socio-economic conditions they are born into. We decided to take action and over the years support their journey by providing them access to holistic education through our School Program and Youth Program.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak since March 2020, the various lockdowns, waves and school closures, NGOs providing educational programs like us had to move everything online, struggling with having enough technology for the team (especially our community teachers) and our students.
Many children and youth have been losing out on essential learning. Prolonged school closures could worsen learning outcomes in the long term and widen existing inequalities, with an increasing number of children falling below minimum proficiency standards, especially those living in the poorest neighbourhoods.

Youth Program | Dharavi, Mumbai and Sanjay Colony, Delhi: We provide English classes to students in the age group 11-15, 16-25 and 25+, predominantly first-generation English learners (workers, students, dropouts, mothers etc).

School Program | Dharavi, Mumbai: We partner with a low-income school in Dharavi. We take care of the entire pre-school and primary section from JR KG to Grade 4, delivering quality holistic education there since 2013. Since March 2020 we adapted ourselves to deliver online education to our students, using Google Meet Live classes.

In both programs, we will use technology to ensure that as many students as possible can access education without being dependent on their parents' mobile phones and that our teachers will be equipped with laptops and devices that will allow them to deliver quality teaching and learning.

Youth Program:

300+ children, youth and adults will access quality English classes online and offline
9 team members (admin and teachers) will be able to deliver quality teaching and learning online and offline

School Program:

300+ students 3 to 10 years old will access quality pre-school and primary education online and offline
21 team members (teachers, admin, school leaders) will be able to deliver quality teaching and learning online and offline
