Peoples Archive of Rural India(PARI) is working to uphold and preserve rural Indian traditions, way of life and skills which are fast disappearing in Read morethe modern world. Through online content like videos, prose, poems and articles the organisation is attempting to keep traditions in public view so that they are not forgotten. It aims to bring the rich diversity of the country to the citizens, a story of the country which is rich in Its multiple languages, crafts, professions, songs, cuisines and of course culture and people. Its website features stories of remote rural villages and people whose lives go unnoticed, the contributions are made by the rural folk themselves besides conscious youth and anyone who is interested in discovering and documenting the variety and traditions of India. It invites students to visit people and write about their experiences covering a rich diversity of topics like farmers, land, women and their contributions, migrant populations, economic facts and figures, It welcomes photos, videos, short films and any such media which can be saved and serve as a living account in Its online archives. PARI encourages schools and institutions to integrate Its stories in the academic curriculum and allows free access and usage of Its vast resource of stories, photos, films and research reports to support teaching on irrigation to pollution, poverty to unsustainable livelihoods. Numerous educational institutions all over India are associated with PARI and capably use the resources available in Its website to impart knowledge about the grassroots of India and Its people. The site is run by the Counter Media Trust and Mr. P. Sainath is the Founder Editor. An informal network supports and funds the trust and its primary activities through volunteer work, donations, and direct personal contributions. Aims at crowdfunding to generate the resources with the donation title - Cover your country.
