Nature's buddy

The "Swaach Mero Pahad" campaign, led by Nature's Buddy, focused on cleaning and preserving biodiversity. The initiative successfully gathered various types of waste, including polythene bags, plastic wrappers, bottles, immersed idols, and alcohol bottles. Residents, along with government officials, actively participated in the river cleaning drive. Pawan Bisht, a Reniwala village local, highlighted that due to insufficient dustbins and awareness, people have been disposing of waste in the river. As water levels receded, garbage resurfaced, causing environmental issues and detracting from the area's beauty.

The 'Save Jumbos - Hathi Mere Sathi' initiative conducted the 'Right of Passage' awareness program in two schools, namely Indira Rashtriya Baal Vikas Prathmik Vidilaya and Rajkiya Prathmik Vidilaya. Over 150 students from Class 5 to Class 8 actively engaged in art competitions during the event. The programme included interactions with various subject teachers and covered topics such as the significance of elephants, corridor conservation, and individual responsibilities, emphasizing do's and don'ts. The aim was to raise awareness among students about the importance of protecting elephants in the Motichur-Barkote at Rishikesh elephant corridor.
