Neevjivan was founded in the wake of the pandemic when desperate migrant workers started returning home. It aims to keep the workers in their home loc Read moreations by skilling them in trades for which jobs are available in their locality or enable them to start a business of their own so that they don’t need to migrate to cities again. It upskills, re-skills the youth and women with a view to align them to the job market requirements. It has partnered with various stakeholders like the workers themselves, local youth, Industries, panchayats, bank officials and many more to enable the training journey to be successful. It mainly runs two programmes for its students: • Skills for Entrepreneurship • Skills for Employment Under Skills for Entrepreneurship the Foundation provides vocational courses on Agriculture, Poultry farming, Goat rearing, Mushroom cultivation, Bee keeping, Vermi-Composting, Tailoring, Beautician, Mobile repairing, Motor mechanic. Besides imparting the technical training on these disciplines the students are also given knowledge on concepts of demand & supply, customer needs, marketing, building value proposition, pricing, sales plan, making business plan, accounting and book keeping, etc. The Skills for Employment are specifically targeted at second and third year students in local colleges. Under this programme education is imparted on collaboration & team work, critical thinking & problem solving, interpersonal skills, customer centricity, latest on technology, spoken English, etiquette & grooming, resume making, interview skills and many more. The programme lasts for 45 – 60 days and uses mediums like interactive sessions, workshops, theory sessions. The Foundation manages both the programmes with an aim to make the youth, worker or women enrolled in them employable and be able to sustain themselves locally.
