About

  • Headquarters

    New Delhi, Delhi

  • Since

    1992

In 1992, driven by a commitment to assist the development of economically disadvantaged individuals, Romil Sethi established a school and center dedic Read moreated to supporting marginalized children aged 3 years and above, facilitating their holistic development. During that period, the society managed a welfare center in Dayal Singh Colony, located adjacent to Friend's Colony, New Delhi. This center encompassed a creche for children, sewing classes, adult literacy classes, and a youth club for the local community. Additionally, it organized eye and health camps within its outreach. However, in 1999, Mrs. Romil Sethi, with the backing of the Urban Slum Development Board, founded the Radico Welfare School in Kalkaji, broadening the society's scope and contribution. What began as a Primary School to empower children through education, nutritional support, and health programs has expanded significantly. The institution now extends its support to a broader community of women through the Mahila Mandal and sewing classes, providing them not only with a means of livelihood but also equipping them with skills beneficial to society. Furthermore, the school offers academic and financial assistance to its alumni as they progress into secondary education and beyond. Rooted in the unwavering belief and love of a visionary who championed every child's right to education and equal opportunities, in 2018, as a tribute to its founder for her steadfast commitment, the society was renamed Romil Sewa Sanstha, and the school was rebranded as Monsoon Kids. Following years of selfless and tireless service towards improving the future of the underprivileged, Mrs. Sethi had to step back due to her advancing Alzheimer's disease. Today, her vision is upheld by a dedicated team of board members, volunteers, teachers, and support staff, exemplifying the robust leadership model ingrained in the system.
