Programs

  • Housing Programme

It oversees the construction of homes for the most vulnerable families in Giddalur Municipality, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh, India, collaborating with the SELAVIP Foundation. To date, it has built 40 houses, benefiting 258 individuals who lacked necessities and identity. This initiative has not only provided shelter but also restored dignity and social protection to those in need.

  • Safe Village Programme

The Safe Village Programme, in partnership with the "My Choice Foundation," targets three critical issues hindering the safety and progress of women and girls: sex trafficking, domestic violence, and child marriages. Recognizing the high incidence of these problems in the Guntur District, the Foundation identified vulnerable villages through data analysis and engaged LAMP to address these issues. LAMP operates in high-risk villages, raising awareness among individuals of all ages, including girls, boys, parents, elders, and officials. Through screenings, lectures, discussions, and the distribution of informational materials like flyers and comic books, the program educates communities about the dangers of abduction and the exploitation of women and girls. Additionally, it leverages media coverage to amplify awareness and sensitize the population about these crucial issues.

  • Environment Protection Programme

To counter the escalating threat to Earth's biodiversity and ecosystem caused by pollution and depletion, LAMP has initiated multiple programmes. These include extensive efforts such as tree plantations and afforestation, engaging communities in biodiversity conservation, and fostering an eco-friendly ethos among people. The organisation promotes sustainable agriculture and organic farming practices, while also focusing on the efficient management of soil, water resources, and solid waste. Additionally, LAMP conducts participatory research to safeguard traditional knowledge and best practices, ensuring the sustainable management of land and natural resources. These collective efforts aim to mitigate climate change, global warming, droughts, and natural disasters by protecting and nurturing the environment.

  • Women Empowerment Programme

In Andhra Pradesh, women face numerous challenges from gender discrimination to unemployment and abuse. LAMP is dedicated to empowering women as catalysts for societal change. It organises women into Self Help Groups, empowering them to access Government benefits. The organisation provides education on fundamental rights and offers skill development training for sustainable livelihoods. Additionally, LAMP focuses on improving nutrition and health among vulnerable communities, particularly adolescent girls and women. By engaging in these efforts, LAMP aims to foster women's active participation in the development process, believing that true progress is incomplete without their involvement.

  • Chenchu Community Revitalization Programme

LAMP, in collaboration with the Center for World Solidarity and ASW, initiated a project targeting the revitalization of the 'Chenchu' Community across 12 habitations in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. Recognized as the Most Vulnerable Tribes (MVT), the declining population of the Chenchu Community prompted this project, focusing on their fundamental human rights and organising them into groups for improved survival. Simultaneously, the project aims to leverage existing Government programmes, ensuring the welfare and development of the Chenchu Community. This concerted effort seeks to address their declining population while advocating for their rights and accessing Governmental support for their overall well-being.
