Programs

  • Lung Health Camp for Waste Pickers in Bhalswa Village

A Lung Health check-up camp was organized in Bhalswa region, targeting residents exposed to toxic fumes from the nearby landfill. The air quality in this area far exceeds WHO standards due to unsegregated dumping of domestic and industrial waste, often leading to hazardous fires. Primarily comprising migrants, notably from Bihar, UP, and Bengal, the local population relies on waste picking as their main source of income, despite facing health risks from prolonged exposure without protective gear. The camp aimed to raise awareness about respiratory health, provide screening for lung diseases, and offer post-evaluation guidance. With support from DCM Shriram Industries Ltd. and Chintan, the camp witnessed significant participation, with 223 individuals registered across two days.
