Supported by a dedicated staff of 2 management professionals and 211 paramedical and administrative personnel, it operates eight operation theatres and a specialized wet lab cum septic OT. The hospital offers diverse accommodations, including four general wards with 200 beds, 20 independent A/C and Non A/C rooms, and a 17-bedded daycare facility. Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital & Institute administers various Long-Term Fellowship Programmes designed to enhance expertise in specialized areas of ophthalmology. The Fellowship in the Anterior Segment, Glaucoma, Cornea, Retina, Pediatric Ophthalmology, and Orbit/Oculoplasty each span 24 to 30 months, encompassing comprehensive training, including phacoemulsification in the latter part of the programmes. Eligibility criteria vary, requiring qualifications such as MS, MD, DNB, or DO. Additionally, the institute actively engages in outreach activities, aligning with its commitment to community service. Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital & Institute extends its reach through various Secondary Centres, strategically located to provide accessible eye care services. The centres, led by dedicated individuals operate Monday to Saturday, with specific timings from 09:00 AM to 05:30 PM. Additionally, a private OPD is available on Sundays. Each centre is equipped with contact numbers for patient care, ensuring individuals receive the necessary assistance. Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital & Institute provides Diploma Courses recognized by the Andhra Pradesh State Allied and Health Care Professions Council. The Diploma Course in Ophthalmic Assistant (DOA) spans two years and prepares students for roles assisting ophthalmologists in clinical functions, emphasizing eye testing, disease identification, and prevention. The Diploma Course in Ophthalmic Technician (DOM) focuses on optometry, including anatomy and optics, with an emphasis on practical applications and soft skills. Optometric technicians, trained through this two-year programme, collaborate with optometrists, perform eye examinations, and handle various responsibilities. Additionally, the institute offers a 24-month Diploma in Medical Sterilization Management and Operation Theatre Technician.
