Programs

  • Empower Young Minds: Education Project

    Empowering Minds runs a Non-Formal Education Centre to imparts quality education to the kids coming from the migrant community of Sanjay Colony, Arthala, an urban slum near Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad. The Centre has an objective to provide primary education to children who lie in the age group of 4 to 14 years. It focuses on getting out the best from the children and nurturing their abilities through remedial methods of teaching. The centre follows all aspects of student development which covers scholastic, co-curricular and personality development.

  • Empower Nutrition - Mindful Eats

    This program started as a midday snacks to the centre children of Slums in Ghaziabad and later got loped as holistic program for the children of the Empowering Minds Education Centre and their families. The program had components of providing Nutrition - served as HotMeals at the centre. These meals were made as per the direction of the Nutrionist and the required nutrition per day per child. The second step is to get the children's "Health Check-up" done quarterly by the Physician and their team. This was done to do the general check-up as well keep tab on height, weight and Hemoglobin levels in check as well as to see the changes in the children's growth. Another set of intervention are to keep the children fit and healthy on "Healthy Body in Healthy Mind". In this the Yoga Instructor comes to the centre once a week to teach Yoga to the children and then children do it on a daily basis in their physical education part. The idea was to make the Nutrition and Health as part of the curriculum from the early stages of life so that it becomes a habit for the children and they continue the same in their adult and late stages of life too.

  • Empower Women - Vocational And Skill Training Program

    This program is focussed on Girls and women from the community who learns three courses, Stitching and Tailoring, Computer skills and Beauty Culture. With this they are also provided soft skills like health and hygiene, sanitation, Menstrual Hygiene, and yoga and meditation.

  • Empower Minds: Mental Health Program For Children, Youth, Women And Parents

    This program covers all the individuals requiring psychosocial support and counselling. Be it parenting session or workshops for parents who have children with bleeding disorders or it youth requiring career counselling, general mental health awareness etc.

Theory of Change

There is data to suggest that the children and youth anre most effected by the frequesnt migration. The migrants children are moist often dropouts, out of school and neglected children. it adds to their woes if they happen to belong to a minority communities. Empowering Minds empower, aware, enrol and handhold these children to achieve education and mainstream them in the Government schools; empower girls to aspire and pursue at least senior secondary education; empower and aware women on Sanitation, menstural heath and hygiene.
Similarly, Empowering Minds is able to provide psychosocial support to the vulnerable communities suffering with mental health issues through various methodologies.
