Balajee Sewa Sansthan is a non-profit organisation committed to the cause of uplifting underprivileged communities. It strives to provide employment o Read morepportunities to underprivileged households and help financial stability through the creation of self-help groups. It supports Government agencies in implementing policies for the welfare of people while creating awareness about such beneficial schemes, works for all round rural development with a special focus on empowering women, arms rural and urban youth with employable skills besides informing people about responsible consumer behaviour.

Impact

Balajee Sewa Sansthan has impacted by: More than 600 students and unemployed youth availed of its training facilities from Bihar & Uttrakhand centres, benefited more than 2220 members through the availability of credit for working capital & livestock of more than Rs. 230 lacs, constructed 1650 toilets for BPL families in Bihar for safe hygienic living, works with 50 SHG in Bihar and 200 Groups in Uttrakhand,

Programs

  • E-Learning Programme

    Partnering with ONGC(Oil and Natural Gas Commission) as part of its CSR activities, Balajee Sewa Sansthan has established e-learning centres in two Government schools in Dehradun along with appointing a teacher each in the schools to monitor the learning improvement in children.

    Similarly in Bihar, the organisation has set up a computer learning centre with the goal of imparting computer literacy to the minority and low-income youth of Patna who can in future, be part of the digital India effort.

  • E-Shakti Programme

    As part of the mission of the Prime Minister of India to create a digital India, the organisation is partnering with NABARD to bring all self-help groups into the folds of financial inclusion. Since it works to facilitate self-help groups at the grassroots level, it is thereby also striving to include these SHGs as part of the scheme. This would ensure that credit can be disbursed easily to the SHG and ultimately, financial inclusion is achieved in the true sense.

  • Health Initiatives

    The organisation is actively involved in screening target groups for the detection and control of the HIV virus. It is also working to reduce the usage of tobacco and smoking among minors and young people, promoting anti-tobacco policies, awareness sessions informing the ill effects of tobacco use and monitoring the availability of tobacco through illegal channels.

  • Social Empowerment Programmes

    The Sansthan managed to convince minority women to attend a leadership development camp organised by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, in Dehradun. The organisation got on the ground to make the women understand that attending the programme would help them access their rights. It has also started a beautician and fashion designing course in the Sahaspur block of the Dehradun district to equip minority women with employable skills.

  • Water & Sanitation Programmes

    As part of its health initiatives, the organisation started by construction of low-cost toilets in the Patna and Lakhisarai districts of Bihar. Its plan is to make the regions open defecation free and educate the people about the merits of sanitation and change mindsets toward a healthy lifestyle. It also conducts health camps, sanitation awareness programmes and celebrates world TB day by creating awareness of this disease amongst the poor, uneducated and uninformed strata of society.
