Led by Ms. Soumi Dutta, the organisation operates with a strong succession plan, aiming to enhance its administration and pursue development objectives. Ashray's multifaceted approach involves addressing infectious diseases, unsafe migration, child protection, and poverty eradication, earning recognition from entities like the World Bank and the UN for its credible and transparent efforts.   • Livelihoods Programme

With a structured team, it has supported over 8,000 entrepreneurs through various schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Jan Jati Gram Vikas Yojna, aiding 2,000 beneficiaries in establishing sustainable businesses with seed money. Initiating the Empowerment through Employment programme, it aligns skilled individuals with suitable jobs, emphasizing dignity in employment. Collaborating with Government bodies like MSME, JHAMCOFED, and TRIFED, it excels in outsourcing services, cleanliness projects, and supplying skilled professionals across sectors, leveraging a diverse pool of technical expertise.

  • Community Mobilization Programme

    The South Vihar Welfare Society for Tribal excels in community engagement across Jharkhand's marginalized areas, leveraging over 17 years of experience. Through Participatory Learning Action and robust documentation, it assesses and tackles issues, bolstering local capacities with skilled mobilizers. Its credibility, earned over 16 years, drives successful mass mobilization and tailored campaigns for the rural and urban poor. Utilizing SWOT analyses and specific tools, it empowers marginalized groups, especially women, girls, and children.     The organisation focuses on empowering women in agriculture, fostering team collaboration, and promoting sustainable farming practices. It educates women on contingency cropping, crop planning, and organic composting, emphasizing profit analysis. Encouraging food sovereignty and traditional knowledge utilization to combat climate change, it aims to revitalize agricultural systems and establish food storage facilities for drought security. Ensuring accessible knowledge across Ranchi's districts, it advances ecological agriculture by enhancing SRI/SCI methods and allied activities like lac rearing and livestock keeping for increased income. Through farmer clubs and SMGs, it facilitates learning and knowledge sharing, striving for sustainable and science-based agricultural practices for the community's benefit.

  • Programme to Combat Human Trafficking

    The organisation employs two approaches to combat human trafficking. Firstly, through BRIDGEE (Boosting Reintegration of Distressed Women, Ensuring Gender Empowerment), it reintegrates and empowers women by focusing on emotional, physical, and mental support, promoting gender equality and skill development. This initiative ensures victims' food security, health needs, and access to shelter home services, fostering resilient survivors. Secondly, the SKILL program trains vulnerable female kin, offering them sustainable livelihoods and documenting their progress to promote sustainability. This effort enables survivors and trained individuals to secure respectable income sources, fostering emotional, social, and economic rehabilitation while reducing vulnerabilities and crimes against women, and empowering them towards a dignified life.
