Center for Sustainable Agriculture (CSA) focuses on fostering ecologically and economically viable Indian agriculture. It conducts research on agroeco Read morelogical farming techniques and their effects, aiding farmers and consumers in transitioning to organic practices. The organisation is committed to nurturing robust rural enterprises and producer organisations, enhancing the delivery of support services, and improving public policy governance. CSA's strategic roadmap outlines an ambitious plan to directly engage with 100,000 farmers and indirectly assist 500,000 farmers over the next five years. This involves collaborating with them to establish sustainable agricultural and rural livelihood models, creating community-owned institutions, and implementing equitable marketing strategies in three Indian states. CSA is also working directly with 100 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and extending support to an additional 200 FPOs across the country within the same timeframe. By achieving these goals, CSA anticipates a 10% increase in agricultural productivity and a 15% boost in farmers' incomes, equating to around Rs. 15,000 per family. Moreover, it envisions generating at least 30% additional income through supplementary livelihood activities conducted for 100 days annually. In its pursuit of sustainable food production models and livelihood preservation, CSA collaborates with like-minded organisations and networks, advocating for policy transformations.
