Max India Foundation

In 2015, the foundation adopted Dhakrani, a village in Uttarakhand. A number of initiatives with respect to water and sanitation, infrastructure, and skill development were introduced.
A solid waste management system covering the entire village was implemented. Two Tractor trolleys with cleaning teams collect waster from each household everyday. To facilitate segregation of waste, two different coloured dustbins were distributed to around 2000 households. The wet waste is segregated through a machine to generate compost, which is then sold in the open market. A sewerage treatment project with a sewerage network of pipes and treatment plants has been started.
The foundation organises health camps every month. Doctors from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dehradun examine and treat patients free of cost. Over 8140 people have been benefitted through 33 camps. In addition to this, the foundation also runs regular health checkup camps and immunization camps.

Under the education programs, the foundation has collaborated with partners such as Teach for India, Saarthi, Foster and Forge Foundation (F&F), Raphael Ryder Cheshire International Centre, and Apnishala Foundation to implement educational initiatives. It works on aspects such as early childhood intervention, mother and child interactive learning, developing life-skills for children, and supporting children with intellectual disabilities.

Many children in India are addicted to tobacco. The availability of tobacco products and the lack of enforcement of the Cigarettes & Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 (COTPA) near schools and in public places contribute to the problem. By focusing on implementing and enforcing the COTPA law, the campaign aims to make Delhi a healthier capital and protect children from the harmful effects of tobacco.
To ensure the success of the campaign, the foundation is undertaking several steps. These include health outreach initiatives in semi-urban areas, media outreach to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco, and strategic partnerships with law enforcement agencies. By combining these efforts, it aims to amplify the voice against tobacco across the country and create a positive impact.
