Project Ganga Prem Hospice (GPH) was initiated in 2005 under the aegis of Shradha Cancer Care Trust, a registered and fully charitable Indian trust. T Read morehe stated vision of the Trust and Ganga Prem Hospice is to help alleviate the physical and psychological discomfort associated with progressive and incurable cancer in Uttarakhand and India. We are a charitable hospice for terminally ill cancer patients. The hospice provides medical, social, emotional and spiritual support for individuals and their loved ones as they face life-threatening cancer, and in their ongoing grief. As the first non-profit registered medical institute (RMI) in palliative care in India, GPH India mobilises and manages its services through a functional hospice facility in village Gohri Maphi in Raiwala, Rishikesh. The village is situated at the foot of the Himalayas near the city of Rishikesh, which is known for its culture and the many established holistic care centres. Our hospice facility was commissioned in 2017 and is currently equipped to provide best-in-class hospice care to up to 15 (fifteen) in-patients suffering from end-stage cancer.

  • Ganga Prem Hospice

    Ganga Prem Hospice the only project of the Trust, and it strives to provide end of life care to every cancer patient regardless of their age, race, caste, creed, socio-economic background or ability to pay. Ganga Prem Hospice provides 24X7 medical palliative care to patients, counselling and support to patients and their families through its inpatient facility (in Raiwala, Rishikesh) and round-the-week hospice home care service to cancer patients in Dehradun, Rishikesh & Haridwar. Patients also have the facility of seeking oncological and palliative care consultation from Ganga Prem Hospice absolutely free-of-charge.

Ganga Prem Hospice is aware of the uniqueness of each terminally-ill patient's journey and continues to follows an adaptable, bespoke approach in providing only high-quality hospice and palliative care services that address our patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

By prioritising continuous improvement in care standards, community involvement and education, we aim to be well-positioned over time to achieve our goals and make a significant impact in the lives of those we serve.

We understand that planning, adaptive management and evaluation are essential components in achieving measurable change and impact. By integrating these principles into our work, we strive to provide the best possible palliative care and support to our patients and their families.

Milestones & Track Record

Ganga Prem Hospice has run a charitable oncological monthly clinic for cancer patients uninterruptedly in Rishikesh since 2007. The clinic service is now a landmark in the city and gains patients by word of mouth without any extensive marketing campaign.

A dedicated home care service for terminally ill cancer patients was started in 2010 by Ganga Prem Hospice. The service has now grown to three team and covers three cities: Rishieksh, Haridwar, Dehradun serving between 150 to 200 patients at a given time

In 2017, Ganga Prem Hospice started its inpatients operations by opening the first hospice of the state of Uttarakhand.
