Programs

  • Know Your Body Know Your rights(KYBKYR)

This Programme aims to address the information gap and vulnerability of young people by providing Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). Through its curriculum, KYBKYR equips young people with knowledge and skills to navigate issues such as violence, HIV, abuse, and gender inequality. The programme utilizes a youth-led advocacy model to create demand for CSE in both school and community settings. It trains youth-oriented organisations, implements CSE curricula in deprived communities, and engages with Government programmes and policies to increase access to sexual and reproductive health services and information. Currently operating in three states in Northern India, KYBKYR focuses on two age groups: 9-13-year-olds and 14-year-olds and above.

  • Loud and Queer Programme

Loud & Queer is an intervention programme that focuses on queer rights and diversity. It aims to address critical issues of health, sexuality, violence prevention, and discrimination by creating resources, platforms, and leadership opportunities. The programme seeks to increase awareness about the lives and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals and ensure access to resources and services for a healthier and more inclusive life. By building capacities and providing the necessary knowledge, Loud & Queer empowers young queer trans people to navigate hetero-patriarchal systems and engage with stakeholders to advocate for their rights. The programme aims to challenge negativity, heterosexism, and discrimination by creating spaces for queer trans individuals to be their authentic selves and have their voices heard within the movement.

  • Mardon Wali Baat Programme

Mardon Wali Baat is a programme that works with young people in campus and community settings to challenge patriarchal gender norms and gender-based violence. Through research and interventions, it promotes reflection, dialogue, and action on relevant intersections in the lives of young people, such as relationships, social media, sexuality, caste, work, and friendships. The programme aims to provide participants with a critical lens to reflect on their lives and the impact they have on themselves and the world. It seeks to foster feminist leadership, reject violence, and promote positive masculinities and pleasure in daily lives. The programme was launched in 2016 in Lucknow, focusing on masculinities and violence normalization.

  • Safe Abortion for Everyone Programme

The Safe Abortion For Everyone (SAFE) programme in India advocates for comprehensive abortion services through research and youth-led advocacy. It aims to improve access to resources and information about safe and legal abortion. The programme conducts research on myths and misconceptions about abortion in different regions and offers free online courses in multiple languages (English, Malayalam and Assamese) to empower young people with rights-based knowledge. It also runs a fellowship to support young advocates for abortion rights. The programme engages in social media campaigns to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and address misinformation about abortion.
