Care India Medical Society is a twenty-seven year old public charitable trust working in the field of cancer care in Pune, Maharashtra. All the servic Read morees are provided free of cost to cancer patients belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society. The ongoing projects have evolved over the years to best serve the needs and requirements of the poor and low-income group communities of Pune. In the year 1994, the organization started “Satseva” - India’s first Home Care Program to provide end-of-life care for cancer patients. Later, to enable early screening and detection of cancers specific to women, Matruseva – a Health Maintenance program was conceptualized in the year 1998. This was followed by another accomplishment in the form of a fifteen bed in-patient critical care center - VISHRANTI in 2007. Vishranti was set up to provide 24x7 hospital care to home care patients difficult symptoms. The fourth program- Cantreat started in the year 2013 which offers free chemotherapy to women with specific cancers and also to male patients suffering from head and neck cancer. The organization networks with various institutions to best serve the medical requirements of patients. Owing to the continued support of Command Hospital (Military Hospital) and Armed Forces Medical College Pune, a large number of patients have benefited from free surgeries, investigations and radiotherapy sessions. Mission, Vision & Core Value Care India Medical Society is a unique public charitable trust with the mission of alleviation of pain and human suffering through public awareness, cancer early detection, cancer treatment and end of life care. All our projects have been conceived keeping in mind the needs and requirements specific to the Indian community.

  • Palliative Care - Satseva - India’s first free Home Care Program for cancer

    Programme for Patient Outreach SATSEVA was introduced on December 1st, 1994.
    It was introduced as a service to help poor cancer patients in Pune City directly at their door. Enhancing the quality of residual life was the main goal. In addition to providing supportive care equipment and much-needed social and psychological assistance to patients and their families, the services also include pain management and symptom control. Palliative care is offered per World Health Organisation recommendations.

  • Matruseva - Care of the Under Privileged women

    The women receive free gynaecological consultations, prenatal counselling, and treatment at a low fee of Rs. 20/-which includes registration and free medication. Every year, free cancer screenings for women are conducted, and in cases where early lesions are found, free surgical procedures like LEEP/Caterization are provided. There are currently two MATRUSEVA clinics, and each year more than sixteen hundred women become new recipients. Pathology investigations are provided by a specialised "MATRUSEVA PATHOLOGY LABORATORY" at heavily discounted rates—less than 40% of the going rate.
