Story
As our beloved Bengaluru puts up a good fight against the pandemic, the women who are leading this war are facing a lot of difficulties. A doctor or nurse in PPE suit all day during periods undergoes hell with sanitary pads overflowing and causing rashes. Policewomen are out all day without access to proper restrooms to change/dispose pads. ASHA/ANM/Linkworkers are on the road visiting homes of COVID patients and checking on them.
Through this campaign we would like to gift these special women menstrual cups so that period days are just as comfortable for them. The cups can hold 3 times as much period blood as the pad and do not cause any allergic rashes or discomfort. The cups are re-usable and can last for upto 10 years. So it saves the women from monthly expenditure on disposable pads. They are trash-free and a miracle in the waste management world. Women do not have to hunt for dustbins n bathrooms, thus saving drains blocked by flushing of pads in public bathrooms. The bulk rate for each cup is Rs 350 and it takes care of the period needs of these women for 10 years. Kindly step forward and donate happy, safe and comfortable periods to these frontline COVID warrior of Bengaluru city.

Menstrual cups and weaver sarees distributed to BBMP pourakarmikas, Linkworker’s and ASHA workers of ward 46. Thanks to RT Nagar residents and Rotary RT Nagar for contributing. It makes for comfortable periods for the next 10 years and colourful Deepawali habba. Thanks to Sowmya for coordinating it all.

22 Oct 2020: Continuing on our campaign of #cupforcovidwarriors, the recipients of the cup and weaver saree donations in the festive time of Navratri were the link workers and ASHA workers of Hombegowda ward. The event was organised by Vinodh and other team members of the Parivartana Trust who have been involved in COVID relief work in the past few months.
