CORONA VIRUS----The biggest calamity has struck the daily wage workers and the employees working in all sectors that have been severely impacted by the virus and the lockdowns caused because of it. India’s COVID-19 cases have spiked to 65 Lakhs and the numbers are increasing. The government has been actively working towards stemming the outbreak. A severe lockdown has been put in place in all the states. A large segment of the unorganized sector i.e., the daily wage workers, the construction labourers, farmers, street vendors and so on do not have the necessary resources to survive. They rely on their daily wages to put food on the table. These communities are already vulnerable as they don’t have proper homes, adequate income or sufficient resources. These individuals from under-served communities are on the brink of starvation. They suffer from various problems such as Lack of Access to Food. Many of them have mostly exhausted their monthly ration supplies and most of them do not have access to avail rations due to lack of awareness.

Driven by urgent need of help and support required, we would like to bring forth the endeavour of by Sankalp Ek Prayas India, which is working as front line support in the states of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Orissa etc for COVID relief and Flood Relief.

Sankalp Ek Prayas has become the most prominent support to Government Bodies in Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Assam, Delhi and many geographies wherein the Representatives from various villages are requesting Sankalp Ek Prayas to help those needy poor families/ old age/destitute/migrant workers having no means for sustenance. Sankalp Ek Prayas volunteers have taken the endeavor of reaching to these families in extremely difficult interior areas and providing ration kits to them in presence of village representatives.

More that 10800 families have already been supported by our team so far and we shall be happy to share the detailed activities undertaken by Sankalp Ek Prayas so far.

SANKALP EK PRAYAS TEAM’s ENDEAVOUR

Sankalp Ek Prayas team is available in rural villages as our centers are operating in rural internal areas. Since last five months, our volunteers have served the most vulnerable and needy migrant workers, laborers , flood impacted people, and extremely poor families have no source for sustenance. This is being done in consultation with the Gram / Village representatives and Sarpanch.

SANKALP EK PRAYAS

• An NGO working in India for Covid-19 relief work in many states of India.
• For COVID-19 relief work, Sankalp Ek Prayas is amongst the few organizations which started its relief work very early (March-20)
• Emerged as one of the most impactful relief organizations in India.
• Working as front line support in the states of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam,Delhi etc.
• Sankalp Ek Prayas’s execution efficiency has been appreciated by local administration, local media and the community for ensuring best possible support to the neediest chunk of the society at grass root.

Beneficiaries:-

• Needy poor families/ old age/destitute/migrant workers having no means for sustenance.
• Flood impacted people in most needy areas
• Immediate support in form of Rations Kits and Hygiene Kits for most vulnerable families
• Identified in consultation with the district administration/ village representatives/ Gram Pradhan/ Sanpanch
• These families are neediest as on date as support from other sources is not reaching to them and they are at higher risk of starvation.

Method of identifying the deserving families:-

• Our volunteers identify the most vulnerable families in consultation with the village representatives/ Gram Pradhan/Sanpanch.
• These are mostly those people having limited/ no source of livelihood.
• Sankalp Ek Prayas has three stages identification process (i) first identification by our village staffs already present in those villages (ii) second level verification by our administration team by physical visit and meeting/ reviewing their needs (iii) endorsement of the screened families by the local village authorities. [in their letter addressed to Sankalp Ek Prayas]  

Monitoring and reporting

• The ration kits/ hygiene kits are made available in presence of the village representatives
• Only the verified list of beneficiaries are provided the ration kits/ hygiene kits
• Just after the distribution, the village representatives provide the details of beneficiaries

Documentation: -

• The photographs and details of beneficiaries are recorded for documentation.
• The entire list of beneficiaries prepared for records.
• The media coverage of event are shared at social media
