Swiftly tying the two braids of her hair, Vidhya ran towards her Amma to share the eagerness she had to enter the new grade, new classroom and new teacher in her school. While Amma undeviatingly stitches the patch on Vidhya’s skirt to get her ready for school, Amma on her usual note advises Vidhya to ensure she has enough of the Mid day meal at school to sufficiently meet her needs for the day. Nodding to the Amma’s voice, Vidhya assuringly says - “Amma, when I become an engineer you won’t have to worry about managing meals for me, I will take care of you and Appa.”

Education is Vidhya’s fuel to the future. Vidhya looks up to school as the ladder for her and her family’s growth in society. Not just Vidhya views education in this manner but Nelson Mandela has also quoted that “From the poorest of countries to the richest of nations understand and believe that education is the key to moving forward in any society.” Thus, it becomes important for schools to deliver an education that caters to the best development of every child in school. But do schools in real deliver the adequate quality of education? 

We at Vidhya Vidhai believe that every child like Vidhya could achieve their dream if schools have the key components that makes them a model school to deliver Quality education

This definition of model school was derived from the Shaala Siddhi Framework which is an MHRD standard of evaluating a school delivering Quality Education. This validates that the need for effective schools and improving school performance is increasingly felt in the Indian Education System to provide Quality education for all children. 

Our Approach

Vidhya Vidhai believes that Leaders steer the quality of education that is delivered in school. When Leaders of the school are transformed for betterment, the school transforms. Vidhya Vidhai equips the school leader to transform their school into a model school. To ensure the sustainability of the impact created and to enable the change, we work on the systemic level in partnership with the decision makers of the school. 

Our reach at Puducherry:

Vidhya Vidhai has partnered with the Department of School Education Puducherry to transform the schools in Puducherry to model schools. Our aim is to transform 100 schools in Puducherry to model schools by equipping the school leader with required knowledge, skills and attitude by 2025.

Fund to be utilized

Vidhya Vidhai operates from the Department office with a team of 2 members. 

The funds raised would be utilized for 12 training programmes to be conducted in the current school year, resources that enrich the HM’s leadership practices and logistics for the events planned on School Improvement and Leadership.
