About:

Vivekananda Youth Forum is a non-profit, voluntary organization formed 33 years ago in 1987, inspired to make a difference in society based on the character building ideas of Swami Vivekananda. Thousands of children have and continue to be benefited at VYF.

A report by Praja.org titled "State of Municipal Education in Mumbai" has highlighted some glaring facts and the urgent need to fill gaps in the education system.

VYF since the past 33 years is constantly working towards the overall development and education of children and youth live in slums, streets of the maximum city!

VYF provides education which imparts life skills to children and youth through its education Projects. Our efforts are inspired by the words of Swami Vivekananda:

"The education which does not help the common mass of people to equip themselves for the struggle for life, which does not bring out strength of character, a spirit of philanthropy, and the courage of a lion— is it worth of the name? Real education is that which enables one to stand on one’s own feet. The first duty is to educate the people."
