COVID-19 made the most challenging and critical time in the history of mankind. Our school going kids were one of the most affected community. Schooling has taken on a whole new look and feel. Internet, mobile and computers have become irreplaceable. Children studying in government schools with average and below income in Kerala are finding it very difficult to adapt to this change. The 10th level students should prepare to face their public exams by March 2021.Child Care Institutions (CCI) including orphanages, shelter homes, children's homes and the like are home to children who are in need of care and protection. The students from CCIs are finding it even harder to cope-up with the current learning situations. A large number of children who went home for last vacation are now unable to return due to the Covid-19 threat. The only way for them to connect with the school is through classes provided on KITE Victers Educational Channel. Many of them are not able to continuously attend the classes due to non-availability of the Television or Mobile. Even if they do have, parents and other family members may give priority in watching other programs of their interest. Most of them don't have any support to do a proper follow up.There are more than 200 students in Child Care Institutions in Trivandrum going to attend 10th level exam this year. If this situation continues, will they be able to attend the exams with confidence? Will they secure enough marks? Can they choose right career after the exam?  
 In order to prepare them to attend the exam with confidence, the need of the hour is to have a platform where they can come together, attend classes regularly, clear their doubts and have proper follow up system. There are many resource persons of their age and experts out there who want to share their knowledge for a greater cause. We also have many technologies that serve to solve this problem.What can we do now? The answer is simple just put them together and have a happy learning experience.‘Edu Saathi- Learning Partner’ is a project of Ether India to provide online classes through Google for 10th class students (Here after called Participants) currently in CCIs in Trivandrum who are unable to cope up with the studies during COVID-19.We are conducting classes for the students using the online conferencing app Google Meet. Assignments and tests will be conducted and monitored through Google Classroom. Group discussions, presentations and tests are organized with the support of student volunteers (Here after called Peer Mentors) from Carmel Girls Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram. Experts and peer mentors will take live sessions using teaching aids like videos, ppt files, pdf files etc created by them. Classes will be complying with the Juvenile Justice Act 2015. 
 <ol><li>26 Participants (Students from Child Care Institution) from 7 Child Care Homes attend their 10th class regularly through Google Meet.</li><li>Connecting with students from other school as their peer mentors and have a fun and happy learning.</li><li>Connecting with experts and mentors to clear their questions and have a better understanding about the topics.</li><li>Awareness about important days and enhancing their skill by conducting competition, discussion, presentation etc.</li><li>Conducting periodic assessment, analyzing the participants and providing the individual support. It will help to maintain good and healthy relationship with peer mentors, mentors, experts and other stake holders.</li><li>Increasing punctuality and systematic approach to studies to their daily routine.</li><li>They learn to submit their assignments on time and get rewarded.</li><li>By continuous practice, our Participants will get rid of stage fear and presentation fear.</li><li>Empowered to brief a session and get rewarded.</li><li>Encouraged to handle a session and get rewarded.</li><li>Developing high self esteem in participants</li><li>Participants will have better self confidence.</li><li>Developing the concept of planting saplings and connected with nature. And have an improved relationship with their natural environment.</li><li>Setting up right goal and career.</li></ol>

We successfully completed 75 Days of online classes of Edu Saathi. A grand celebration was organized on 31st October, 2020 though Google Meet. Malayalam Cine Artist Ms. Dhanya Ananya inaugurated the function. Also we were blessed with the presence of Mrs. Chithralekha, District Child Protection Officer, Mrs. Nimmi Mol, Protection Officer, Magic Lekshmi a young magician, Directors of various child care institutions and our supporters. Celebration was concluded with a powerful session on the topic "Who am I!" by Dr. Shinu Das, Psychologist.
