For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. But most people walk past them without a second glance. “Like this”, Dr. Bhagat explains, “many elders die on the roads.”Since 2003, SHEOWS (Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society) has rescued over 10,000 elderly people from the streets and given them a home with care and support. The elderly staying at the ashram have all been abandoned by their families and have nowhere else to live. Your support can give them comfort after their abandonment. The Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram has a dedicated rescue team that saves the elderly from the streets and gives them immediate medical care upon their arrival at the home. To tend to the multiple health complications of the seniors, the home has a medical facility with doctors and nurses, a physiotherapy unit, a pathology lab, a digital X-ray monitoring machine and a pharmacy to provide 24-hour care to older adults anytime they require assistance, even during emergencies. Dr. Bhagat prioritizes the health of the seniors and ensures that they receive three balanced meals a day based on their precise health requirements. Need for the fundraiserThe humanitarian mission of SHEOWS is making an impact in the area, as more and more people are being rescued and brought to Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. To meet the financial costs of running the home, SHEOWS needs support to continue providing the residents with all the facilities that they need. This includes constant care and round-the-clock medical attention, nutritious food and maintaining a hygienic environment to keep the seniors in comfort and good health. Dr. Bhagat explains that as the number of residents is increasing, SHEOWS needs support for food and medicines. “I request you to help these elderly parents lead a peaceful life.”Donate now to help Dr. Bhagat continue caring for the 500 destitute elderly and giving them shelter, food, medical care and the will to carry on living despite their tragic abandonment by their families. Your support will enable SHEOWS to keep serving abandoned senior citizens and help them recover from the trauma of abandonment and life on the streets. “I have been serving these elderly as if they were my own parents”, shares Dr. Bhagat. “I want only one thing - their tears should vanish and they should have a smile on their faces.” To help Dr. Bhagat achieve this dream, your support is critical. Donate now to help SHEOWS care for more abandoned elderly. Donate to this fundraiser by Give, India’s largest online donation platform, to support SHEOWS in their mission to rescue the abandoned elderly from the streets and give them shelter, food, medical care, recreational activities and emotional support.

In the dark and dingy alleys of red light areas, injustice, pain and suffering run rampant. And the worst affected are the children who grow up in red-light areas and are subjected to constant abuse and violence. “The sight of a 12-year-old girl being gang-raped by a group of men near a house l haunts me to this date. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care. He has further supported over 20,000 children with a better life.Sadly, Of the 250 the children rescued from abuse and exploitation, around 70 of them are HIV positive. The high cost of medication has left Girish struggling for funds. Your support can help him provide these children with the care and upbringing they need. I had even seen my friend’s 15-year-old sister and 70-year-old grandmother being forced to do sex work for the price of a cup of tea”, recalls Girish. “I started by merely feeding and teaching children of sex workers initially with the intention of giving them some respite from the horrors of life of abuse in red-light areas. Gradually more and more mothers started coming to me and asked me to take their children away, even if it was just for a couple of hours,” he further adds. The work that Girish started in his youth gradually grew to become a movement, with many more joining his cause. His NGO Snehalaya to date has transformed the lives of millions. Girish’s work is crucial for the survival and safety of vulnerable children of sex workers. Snehalaya is almost entirely dependent on donations from the public and your support can strengthen his mission to save children most in need. Donate generously. The horrors of life in red light areas“The cruelty and abuse that children as young as 6 or 7 years of age face is something that I can’t explain in words. Young daughters of sex workers are made to watch their mothers being raped, are brutally assaulted and forced into sex work. No child deserves to grow like this, Girish says in anguish.Sad reality of life for children growing up in red light areas is that they are deprived of even the most basic needs like proper food, safety and education. Moreover, a good number of children rescued by Girish are diagnosed HIV positive. The task of securing medication, providing them quality education and much-needed nutrition is one that requires constant support from donors. Moreover, the increase in healthcare cost has left Girish struggling to keep his home for children going. But your support can enable him to give his children a loving environment and save many more who still remain trapped behind closed doors.Donate to this fundraiser by Give, India’s largest and most trusted online donation platform, to help Snehalaya give hundreds of children rescued from red-light areas a life away from violence and abuse.

“I saw a girl, barely 7 or 8, being pushed into flesh trade. Her cries for help still echo in my ears. There were men as old as 60 r*ping the innocent child. That was the day I knew my mission in life was to get these children out of the hell-like conditions in red-light areas. They are nothing short of hell and no child deserves to grow up in this environment” says Vinay Vasta, founder of Social Activities Integration, an organisation committed to freeing children trapped in red-light areas.Vinay and his NGO have been able to provide education, medical care and nutrition to over 2,500 children. But his dream to provide safe shelter to children remains unrealized. “We do our best to keep these children safe during the day but sadly they are forced to go back to the red light areas at night as we don’t have a home for them. Your donation can help us build a safe home for children of sex workers and prevent them from being pulled into prostitution. They invite customers in the presence of their children. Their children not only witness abuse but experience it too. Just imagine a child being told that all she can ever become in life is a pr*stitute”, Vinay shares as he explains the extent of abuse children face in red light areas. This is a life that thousands of children are forced to live behind closed doors where they suffer abuse and exploitation morning, noon and night.A ray of hopeVinay has been relentlessly trying to give children the care and education they deserve. He has provided quality English education to thousands of children, enabling them to secure a livelihood out of red-light areas. Several children taught by Vinay are today leading successful lives as professionals and Government employees. However the sad reality is that Vinay and his NGO, in the absence of a permanent shelter home, are unable to provide round the clock safety to these children, which is essential for their well-being.Your donations can enable SAI to build a shelter home for the children of sex workers and usher in a new tomorrow for them, away from the horrors of red-light areas.Donate to this fundraiser on Give.do, India’s largest and most trusted online donation platform, to provide safe shelter for children of sex workers and save them from abuse and second generation pr*stitution.NGO's 80G number: AACTS0408EF20216NGO's 12A number: AACTS0408EE20028

My Children Foundation is a not-for-profit organization based in Kolkata. Our organization helps underprivileged children to continue their education till they reach their full potential. Our vision is to make a world in which no child has to stop education due to a lack of resources. We will create a strong support network to provide enough financial and operational support so that a child can flourish to his or her full potential. We identify such children through government schools, other NGOs and directly from families & friends of such children. We validate and qualify them to get them registered in our system. Similarly, we are creating a global network of people who are willing to mentor these children by providing not only financial support, but also extending their valuable guidance & nurturing them as their own children. At an operational level, we deploy volunteers and change agents to build awareness, onboard families, execute activities at the local level. The initiative is based on the platform & network concept to keep operational cost at a minimum and ensure maximum fund goes to actual beneficiaries which are our children. Anyone from any place can mentor one or multiple children with complete visibility.3 reasons to support us:

Full Transparency: You can track your children, their performance, your donations & all disbursements with bank confirmations yourself. Donors and supporters benefit from a user-friendly online platform where they can monitor their donations, track fund utilization, and stay informed about the impact and progress of the projects or children they have supported. We have streamlined our operations to keep running costs at a minimum through automation, self-service, and a low-touch delivery model. We also strive to break the cycle of poverty by generating diverse livelihood opportunities and promote sustainability through producing eco-friendly products and reducing waste, creating a more liveable and thriving planet for the generations to come. Furthermore, embracing a circular economy, we actively participate in the collection and recycling of old products, contributing to efforts to reduce waste through reprocessing and redesign. Our Approach:To address these challenges, our strategy encompasses three pillars:1. Building self-confidence in children through learning centers:Establishing learning centers nationwide to reach remote areas, fostering self-confidence through education and activities. This will help us to reach remotest places, building relationship with local people and instilling self-confidence among underprivileged children. They will get an inspiring environment through activities like music, dance etc as well as learn basic education & life skills. This will also help us to identify children who have higher potential in any field to put them into our comprehensive support program.2. Providing comprehensive support to children with high potential:Identifying and supporting talented children through a three-step process: identification, mentorship, and last-mile support.· Identify the right child - There are mainly two sources of childreno Direct: Apart from our own learning canters, we will approach different institutions like schools, orphanages to identify raw talented children.o Indirect: Potential children can be reported by anyone on our website. Those children are filtered and prioritized to channelize our fund towards right children.· Connect a mentor - We will search like-minded people who want to support these children. Willing mentors can reach us or we approach them through different channels. Trust also directly supports children based on its capacity. This is not just a financial assistance program, rather mentor takes the ownership and provides all kind of assistance including guidance.· Meet the last mile - A person can become mentor remotely without any geographical limitation. We build the last mile connection to deliver required materials, services, manpower. We provide digital access to all mentors to check their mentees, their performance & fund utilization. We also deploy change agents who are local persons and can build relationship and execute.3. Creating a local ecosystem to foster livelihood and sustainability:Establishing a local ecosystem involving parents, institutions, children, mentors, and change agents, promoting skill development and creating a sustainable supply chain. We build skill & capacity, create a viable supply chain and empower people to produce products to generate a continuous revenue stream. Our digital platform will help them to reach markets and sell their products in a sustainable manner. We will focus more on eco-friendly, natural, organic products.Reduce, reuse, and recycle – This has been the mantra for years. People are shopping and buying more, so the output of clothing is higher. However, the quick fashion industry and overstuffed closets, have all contributed to overflowing landfills. My Children has taken an initiative to collect old clothes, classify them and then recycle or redesign or repurpose.Intended Impact:Our initiative has both immediate and long-term social impacts:Immediate Impact:· Continuation of education for less privileged children.· Incentives for parents to support their children's education.· Sustainable livelihoods for families.· Improved nurturing environments for children.· Job creation through sustainability and livelihood initiatives.Long-term Impact:· Reduction in school drop-out rates and child labor.· Systematic income distribution to break the cycle of poverty.· Mindset change regarding education and gender roles.· Balanced society with educated and aware individuals.· · Positive economic impact, increased demand, and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.· Socio-political improvements, including reduced crime and better governance.· A happier society through altruism and empathy.· A better and cleaner world for future generations
