For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. Government-run schools in India are stretched for resources and manpower, leading to poor instructional quality, low learning outcomes and a dropout rate of 90% by high school. STEP Foundation addresses these lacunae by conducting free, high-quality tutoring classes at 20 Learning Centers across India. Thanks to individualized attention, children receive the help and confidence to excel in their classrooms.</li><li>While enrollment in government BMC schools in India is high, quality of education is a huge problem. Substandard teaching and lack of personal attention lead to an inability to cope with the curriculum. Often, the teacher-student ratio is as high as 1:60. This results in an extremely high dropout rate -58% of children don't complete elementary school and by high school, that statistic rises to 90%. Children lack the motivation and help to continue school.</li><li>Solution</li><li>STEP Foundation averages the power of trained volunteers to tutor underprivileged children in Learning Centers in ten different slum location, a student ratio of 1:3. The children receive personalized attention through which learning is maximized. COVID-19 data compiled from major cities of India has shown that Nashik in Maharashtra is the worst hit city in the country in terms of cases per million residents. The Union health ministry data showed that Nashik has 46,050 COVID-19 cases per million residents In Maharashtra Nashik is effected badly. Due to that we wanted to support COVID impacted families by supporting in the health and education as well as provide Insurance cover to 100 widows so that they can sustain and live a happy life 
 As part of intervention strategy implementation post Covid, STEP has identified100 Widows who are in need to support their families for health and education.Also there are COVID impacted families who have lost their bread earners, and lost their jobs too who are unable to avail the normal health care too, we wanted to support such families for preventing them from common illness and get health support at a concessional rate.If any COVID impacted family needs a support for major surgery we will help them do so 
 100 widows, will get insured, for their future after their Husband's death.300 families will get supported for small illnesses. 100 families will get surgical expenses.

The unprecedented crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic has impacted risks to the nutritional status and survival of young children in low-income in the rural and urban slum communities of India. Studies have depicted concern in an expected increase in child malnutrition due to no or decline household incomes, availability and affordability of daily food intake. loss of jobs , financial crisis , After the pandemic . the huge set of people are unable sustain their livelihood as there are lacking in skills, digital literacy, many of small scale factories and companies get shut of due to that surviaval is an issue . whatever saving they have gone in to the treatment of family member who had COVID , also to lock down paying house rent and other household chores they are now NIL ( economically Nil )  Over the past few  months of lockdown STEP FOUNDATION  team has conducted baseline survey to understand the issues faced by community members. Few of the issues which have emerged during our visits are as follows –Lack of resourcesLack of training and empowerment within the community No financial support to start a new entrepreneur.Personality development  , grooming and digital divide  is the skills they were needed .  
 As part of intervention strategy implementation post Covid, STEP Foundation has identified500 families to work with , approximately 50 children/ women  from each community will be identified and selected based on the severity of crisis faced by them in terms of·        Access to daily meal and regular availability of food items,·         families with pregnant and lactating mothers and·         families with children under 10 and ·        Families with no income source. A total of 150 beneficiaries will be part of the program. The intervention program aims towards effective personality building, skill building , grooming and empowering towards the employability 50 beneficiary will be learning digital literacy , skill building and perusing internship in various corporates houses for building their own portfolio50 women from the family will get training and small scale business opportunity .50 children will learn basic English , basic computers and grooming and communication skill sessions etc .  
 In 2020, STEP FOUNDATION aimed to help and sustain COVID impacted families . Our main focus on training empowering people for their own sustainability. As  COVID affected badly peoples have lost their jobs, education was online due to that children &amp; youth have lost their important years of the studies . so many women who become widows have lost sustainable family Income It happened due to lack of knowledge , skills , awareness and learning about the financial stability . STEP Foundation  began its intervention with 500 families in Mumbai slum pockets. . While interacting with the parents and children we understood that these parents also care about the future of their children but lack the resources and opportunities to help their child grow. STEP FOUNDATION works with parents who are illiterate or semi-literate migrant workers, daily wage workers, street hawkers, etc.The families needed to upgrade their skills for developing good financial stability  STEP Foundation  took the challenge of changing the mind-set of parents through continuous intervention with training and empowerment module . So far STEP Foundation has impacted around 500 families across different slum pockets in 3 Municipal wards in Mumbai..Our aim in the near future is to spread its wings and widen its horizon to provide helping hands to more and more youths, women , Adolescent girls  to upgrade their skills and works towards employability .

With this philosophy at heart, STEP now wishes to take New STEP’s For creating empower future generation by providing them training and bringing sustainability for the youths from marginalized urban slum communities. It is called STEP towards big dream because we believe that every Child (Youth) has his or her own potential which plays an important role to think big only they need to create specific goals &amp; create a path to reach towards their Dream. 
 The project operates at three levels:<ol><li>Identifying out of Youth</li><li>Building there dreams </li><li>Creating a path to reach towards their goals.</li></ol>Across the levels, we take youth from the age group of 15 to 18years bridging the learning gaps that the doors of opportunities open for them. Overall, our intervention works with a child up to 3years or till they graduate out of 12th Grade. It is an intensive programme that works not only with the child but also the parent, community and school to ensure thinking about the child's dream and work as an action group that will help the child to reach his/her potential and reach out towards his /her dream.
