For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. The Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram has a dedicated rescue team that saves the elderly from the streets and gives them immediate medical care upon their arrival at the home. To tend to the multiple health complications of the seniors, the home has a medical facility with doctors and nurses, a physiotherapy unit, a pathology lab, a digital X-ray monitoring machine and a pharmacy to provide 24-hour care to older adults anytime they require assistance, even during emergencies. I was filled with anguish and resolved to do something,” says Girish Kulkarni who has made it his life’s mission to rescue children from red light areas and give them a safe and secure childhood. In the last 3 decades Girish has saved over 1100 girls from a life of abuse in red-light areas, giving them a loving home, education and medical care. When HIV was considered a dreaded disease with huge stigma and discrimination attached to it, TNP+ was started in 1994. It was registered as a trust in 1995. Ever since its inception, the network is the solace to thousands of PLHIVs. Treatment, Care and Support are the main areas in which TNP+ was actively involved. Through Community Care Centres (CCC) and Drop-in Centres (DIC), the PLHIVs were guided to make choicest decisions on treatment and its adherence. TNP+ is also actively involved in capacity building of the PLHIVs by mobilising internal resources. Currently, TNP+ along with 32 networks across the state of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry work for the PLHIVs through the Vihaan project.To improve access to, and quality education and health care. The founder Mr. Rama.Pandian has dedicated his life entirely for the welfare of the People Living with HIV/AIDS and brought about see-change in the lives of thousands of PLHIVs. He spread the concept of positive network across the length and breadth of India and instrumental in starting many other district and state-level networks and effecting policy changes for the treatment, care and support for the people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. He was the general secretary of Indian Network of Positive People (INP+). In and around Chennai region of Tamilnadu State, Children who are the victims of HIV/AIDS face a lot of issue which a common man would not even have heard of. Some of the issues these children face are:•	Most of them are Single / double orphan resulting into mental stress and feeling of neglected and loneliness •	Poverty and lack of proper education, health, food, shelter and even proper clothing.•	School drop-outs, child labor, child trafficking, and sexual exploitation, Drug abuse, inducement in illegal activities, stigma & discrimination, lack of psycho –socio – economic support, lacking ART drug adherence, mal nutrition & lack of health seeking behavior •	They suffer mentally and physically and without a hope or future to live a life. Neglected by family, neighbor and community they put to suffer a lot but not limited only to these. Concern:Since 1994 TNP+ is engaged in advocating for the rights for Treatment, Care and Support for PLHIVs. One of the key concern is the Children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS of BPL families an those lost single or both parents to HIV/AIDS. These children are subjected to strong stigma and discrimination, poverty, malnutrition, ill health, physical and sexual exploitation. These children face increased vulnerability to HIV infection and those already infected progress fast into full blown HIV status, and particularly the girl children. It is highly necessary to place a strong support system and services at the community level to ensure these children’s safety, security, wellbeing and development. 
 TNP+ aims at the following actions:	Providing psychosocial counseling – both at the Institution and at community level through trained counselors and health educators, including health care, and treatment adherence. 	Education support – re-enrollment, evening tuition, life skills education, technical and other computer skills through regular schools and through special coaching centres, providing education materials, paying school fees, play and sports materials. Provide support to higher education and vocational trainings and education and facilitate them to get jobs based on their interest, talent and qualification.	Advocate with education departments, schools, PTA’s to reduce stigma and discrimination and ensure creation of a supportive environment at the school and community neighborhood. 	Ensure access to health insurance to these children and facilitate availability. 	Provide / increase access to safer shelter, Food and micro nutrients, safe and clean drinking water and quality education 	Mobilize and link support from Health departs, local agencies, law making bodies to ensure easy access to health facilities and rights of the children.	Capacity building of the Families / Care Takers of the PLHIV Children 
 Overall TNP+ aims at “Transforming 500 children’s life affected by HIV/AIDS in and around Chennai region, Tamilnadu, In one year” which will be continued year after year.The impact of the project will be:500 affected children will be benefitted at the end of one year in areas :	80% children feel from mental stress and confident to face life challenges	80% children improved physical health 	80% will be ready to be put on regular schooling by end of the year	80% children will have availed health insurance	70% reduced incidence of Child labor, child trafficking, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation among these children. 	80% developed health seeking behavior and adherence to Treatment 	70% reduced stigma and discrimination	90% Care takers of the children are trained on Child care and rights.
