“The abusers insert a candle or fingers in the vagina of children torture them. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. The Native people who are residing over generations in Kancheepuram,Chengalpet &amp; Tiruvallur (chennai suburb districts) are from economically weaker backgrounds whose daily wages depend on unorganized work as these poor people couldn’t afford to study years back. Now, these low income earning people believe that providing quality education to their children will help them to overcome the suffering/struggles they are facing and education leads to better life &amp; future for their children.This led the parents’ heart to send their children to private schools even though it is hard for them to pay the fees, till primary classes they could afford to pay the fees but when their children go to secondary classes the fees amount increases and the parents find it difficult to pay the fees. On the other hand students who are from very poor families join in government school and these students can’t afford to buy basic school needs like Uniforms, bags, supportive materials like guide books, note books etc.,With all struggles when a student completes his/her studies till higher secondary, they find it difficult to join colleges due to families’ economic conditions. So, after school education instead of going to colleges, they work at supermarkets,textile shops etc., 
 WEEDS discovered this as a common issue happening among the native people of Kancheepuram,Chengalpet &amp; Tiruvallur (chennai suburb districts). Because of this issue, currently there is an increase in school and college dropouts than before since from COVID-19 pandemic/economic recession. This situation is leading the low income families’ students to go to the jobs than continuing higher education.So, to reduce dropouts and making students from low income families of Kancheepuram,Chengalpet &amp; Tiruvallur (chennai suburb districts) to pursue education, WEEDS is taking up this issue as challenge to support and motivate the parents by paying their children school/ college partial fees. And, through this education scholarship Aid the students can be able to more focus on their education rather than in stress about their fees dues. And parents can be encouraged and would believe the better life for their children, moreover our education scholarship support will boost the low income families’ parents to educate their children.Starting from this academic year, all these deserving students from low income families will receive the support until they finish their higher education. Under Article 21 (A) of the Constitution of India states that Every child between the ages of 6 to 14 years has the right to free and compulsory education. By the constitution all the children got access to education but with an imbalance. Thus, accessibility without equality is a greater discrimination form of untouchability. There is an imbalance between rural and urban students in getting access to quality education regarding teaching, computer skills, English knowledge and communication skills. We are devoted to abolish this wider hidden imbalance in Education. With this in mind we would like to concentrate on improving the computer knowledge of government school students together with the support of you (kind donors).In the current world all the people are adopting Computers which help the students to learn about the world and know what is happening in it. It helps them to aim for excellent jobs in the future and succeed in it. The computer has become a standard of education throughout the world. This makes computer education important. 
 For “Rural Students computer Literacy &amp; Life skills Training Programme”, the school's which we adopted are - Gerugambakkam &amp; Kovur Puduvattaram panchayaths middle schools where there are 600+ children studying from the class range of 1st STD – 8th Grade. We are planning to set up computer lab facility along with facilitator/Trainer who will teach the students. The students are basically from a very rural background and there is no chance for them to learn about computer system. If we teach them basic computer skill it will help them during their higher education. RURAL STUDENTS COMPUTER LITERACY AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAMME

Women are still the most deprived and neglected segments of society despite the constitutional guarantee for equal rights and privileges, and continue to be victims of economic, social cultural and political marginalisation.Women undertake most of the work and their working hours are longer than those of men, They do domestic work like child care and housework, and they are considered a burden and are oppressed and violated in multiple ways. Their development is further retarded by intervening factors like gender discrimination, low level of education and work participation, poor nutritional status, violence against women and poor health .Women are deprived of sex education and have poor health due to frequent pregnancies. They lack information on balanced diet, family planning, house cleaning and other necessary information to improve their health and quality of life. They have low-paid jobs and lower financial independence, all of which translates into a lack of self-confidence.Poor women’s access to credit in rural areas is also very weak and is affected by a number of problems like insistence of collateral security, cultural distance between rural women and banks, cumbersome procedures, denial of credit to women due to default by male members of the family. 
 1. WEEDS proposes to promote employment oriented skill upgradation training to women.2. Generate awareness on social issuesSocial Awareness Seminars apart from the regular training. Awareness seminars will be conducted on various social issues .The topics will be awareness on pre-marital issues, dowry, role of family counseling centres, child marriage, domestic violence, disaster management, positive and negative thinking, human rights, role of education.In addition to this, the beneficiaries will be motivated to share the important lessons of such seminars with their family members, relatives, friends so that more number of people can be benefitted with such social awareness sessionsMethodology1. Reach out to the potential beneficiaries through mobilization and outreach initiatives encouraging women and girls enhance their skills by enrolling for stitching, embroidery courses2. course duration : Three months training course of stitching for a batch. In a year, 4 batches will be conducted.3. Skill enhancing exposure trips for the beneficiaries to improve their selling &amp; negotiation skillsCertification : certificates will be issued upon successful completion of the course.Target Group : Women and girls from the villages around Kundrathur.Total beneficiaries : 120 womenProject Area : Kundrathur Block, Kanchipuram district 
 EXPECTED OUTCOMES:Through this initiative, the 120 girls and women will acquire tailoring skills and it will make them economically independent .75% of the women and girls will be helped to get employment in the export garment units in and around Kundrathur. The beneficiaries will get a regular monthly salary of Rs 8000/- which will help them to improve their quality of life.25% of the women will be helped to start self employment with the assistance from bank loans .100% poverty will be reduced due to increase employability and unemployablity will be reduced120 women beneficiaries will be imparted awareness on pre-marital issues, dowry, role of family counseling centre, child marriage, domestic violence, disaster management, positive and negative thinking, human rights, and role of education. It will help them to safeguard themselves and their families from anti-social elements.More than 3000 women in the project area will get awareness through the trained beneficiaries because of this 75 % of the domestic violence will be stopped in the community90% of the young girls and boys will cultivate positive attitude and start live happily10 Self-help groups will be started in the area community.

Empowering women through Vocational Training skills in Kunrathur block, Kanchipuram district in Tamil Nadu, India.

When the pandemic hit, many workplace closed and many low income parents whose jobs situation were already unstable, lost their jobs or had reduced hours and pay. Those experience impacted the family ecosystem including children education. The balancing act that parents are having to do is challenging enough for financially stable families, but low-income families may have to choose between making rent, buying groceries or Paying fees for their education. This situation led many children to discontinue the education.Now the situation is slowly changing schools &amp; colleges are reopening so the students are force to pay the fees. 
 Through this program we will support the students to pay their fees, school kits (Bag, notebooks ,uniform) to continue their education without any distress. The students from Private school, Government school &amp; College students will be benefitted through this Programme. By this support we can reduce the burden of low income families. 
 We believe that the most important effects of Education has on society is giving the people who live in a society the skills they needed to compete in their life and create a healthy future generation.
