1. Yuvraj Singh
Back in 2011, when Yuvraj got to know about his cancer, he was shattered. He tried ignoring his fatal illness because for him, cancer meant leaving cricket. It was only a few months later when further tests revealed that his cancer was growing over his chest which was a concern. And then came the time for our cricket star to run out this life threatening disease. He underwent treatment and made a successful comeback in 2012 Twenty-Twenty against New Zealand.
Yuvraj saw hell and he returned to tell the tale. He did not shy away because of this disease. He rather took it to social media and became the source of inspiration for many battling with cancer. In 2012, he announced the launch of ‘YouWeCan’, an initiative by Yuvraj Singh Foundation (YSF), sending one clear message: FIGHT. The initiative focuses on all aspects of the disease including the advantages of early detection. It always finds interesting ways to educate people on cancer, like, by organizing sports events and fairs, making sure that the issue gets the much needed attention.

2. Shraddha Kapoor
In 2018, Shraddha Kapoor, Indian Actor and Singer donated 6-lakh towards the Akshaya Patra Foundation. Her generous donation was the amount that she won in the 24th episode of the television game show Dus Ka Dum. She also took the stage to call out for support for this NGO which is providing nutritious mid-day meals to children across India.
Shraddha is of the opinion that people who are privileged and blessed with a comfortable life should lend a helping hand to those who are deprived of even basic needs. She even expressed her deep concern towards the less fortunate. She said that the least they deserve is good, nutritious food, especially the growing kids. She went ahead and posted on her social media urging her fans to support this noble cause, “With a click you can provide food for helpless hungry children. I have done my bit. The Akshaya Patra Foundation is serving meals to 1.6 million children from 13,839 schools across 12 states in India. The food is cooked in centralized kitchens and the program is implemented across schools in partnership with the government of India. Their mission is to feed 5 million children by 2020 to make sure that no child in India shall be deprived of an education because of hunger. 3. Sachin Tendulkar
Cricket is celebrated in India and cricketers are worshiped. While they are looked upon for their passion on the field, many totally live up to that praise by the work they do off-field as well. Most celebrated Indian cricket star, Sachin Tendulkar sponsors education of 200 children. Taking inspiration from his father to do his bit towards the society, Sachin is supporting Apnalaya since years being one of the most charitable celebrities.
Apnalaya is a Mumbai based NGO working to improve education, health and livelihood of the underserved communities. It aims to empower the poor by giving them the opportunity to lead a better life. In 2017, Sachin was also a part of project ‘Mission-24’ to develop the poorest ward in Mumbai. The project was launched by NGO Apnalaya and Mumbai First in partnership with the BMC. It aimed to provide amenities like secondary schools and colleges, anganwadis, maternity homes and dispensaries in the ward.
In an interview with News18 he said in support of the programme conceptualised by Give, to promote charity, “I’m trying to double my givings and contributing in whatever way I can. I will pay for the education of 200 children as a part of the ‘Joy of Giving Week’ campaign,”

4. Rahul Bose
nown for his splendid performances in Mr. and Mrs. Iyer and Dil Dhadakne Do, Rahul Bose is a man of many talents. Despite working relentlessly as an actor, writer and sportsman, Rahul has always kept a generous heart and kept time to do his bit for the society.
He is a Founder of Group of Groups, an organization which aims to provide education to children from a disadvantaged background in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He also became the Oxfam Global Ambassador in 2007, which focuses on the alleviation of global poverty. Besides, he is associated with Citizens for Justice and Peace, Teach for India, Breakthrough, the Spastics Society of India and Akshara Centre.
A strong advocate of gender equality, he has extensively spoken and written about the issue. For the last three years, he has also regularly worked with over 80 Muslim, Dalit and Hindu girls as part of an initiative created by Akshara Centre. Yuvraj Sing in doing great work for poor children after retirement & other celebrities also participated with NGOs. Recently I read a blog Amithab Bachchan also launched a campaign(SEE NOW) with Sightsavers India.
Mr Bachchan said “Vision problems are extremely common in India, currently about 550 million Indians have serious vision problems which affect their families, their work and their quality of life.
