DescriptionDr. Reddy’s CSR initiatives in education focus on empowering underprivileged children by enhancing the quality and accessibility of education. In partnership with organizations like Dr. Reddy’s Foundation, these efforts strive to make education affordable, inclusive, and aligned with employment opportunities, leading to better academic and vocational outcomes.
Objective: To provide affordable and accessible quality education, improve academic and non-academic outcomes, and deliver employment-oriented vocational skill training.
* Kallam Anji Reddy Vidyalaya (KARV) - Established in 2001, Kallam Anji Reddy Vidyalaya is a co-educational day school dedicated to providing quality education to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The school follows the State Board syllabus, preparing students for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.
* Kallam Anji Reddy Vocational Junior College (KARVJC) - Launched in 2003 by the Dr. Reddy’s Foundation, KARVJC aims to empower students from low-income families with employment-oriented technical education. Recognizing that many students from such backgrounds often forgo higher education to support their families, the college offers two-year vocational courses to equip them with skills for better employment opportunities.
* School Improvement Programme (SIP) - Started in 2011, the School Improvement Programme (SIP) by Dr. Reddy’s Foundation focuses on enhancing the quality of education for children in the vicinity of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in Bachupally. Initially covering 11 schools, the program has now expanded to 229 schools, benefiting over 65,728 students.
* Sashakt - A scholarship program for meritorious women who aspire for a career in STEM. The scholars are offered financial support and mentorship throughout their undergraduate studies. Junior Sashakt Scholarship supports academically bright girls who have completed 10th class to pursue further education in science. Skilling and Livelihood
DescriptionDr. Reddy’s has facilitated skill-based training and job opportunities for youth and individuals with disabilities, while empowering small and marginal farmers to adopt modern technologies and advanced agricultural practices. These initiatives have not only positively impacted the beneficiaries but also created value for the company and its stakeholders.
Objective: To enhance the employability of youth and individuals with disabilities and bridge gaps in agricultural extension services for marginal farmers. This includes improving access to public extension resources, engaging agricultural experts, promoting best practices, and fostering peer learning and knowledge-sharing among farmers.
* Youth Skilling - Dr. Reddy’s Youth Skilling Program focuses on developing core employability skills that are industry-agnostic, enabling young individuals to meet the job requirements of various sectors. The program ensures placement in quality jobs aligned with their aspirations.
* PwD Skilling - The GROW PwD program is a placement-linked skilling initiative for youth with 11 different disabilities, including locomotor, visual, speech, and hearing impairments. It aims to integrate them into the workforce by equipping them with essential employability skills.
* Healthcare Skilling - To address the shortage of skilled healthcare professionals, the High-Quality Healthcare Skilling Program targets women from low-income families. This program focuses on training allied healthcare workers with specialized skills tailored for roles in the non-medical health sector, ensuring their readiness for meaningful employment.
* Agriculture Project MITRA - MITRA (Making Integrated Transformation Through Resourceful Agriculture) empowers farmers by introducing advanced technology and modern farming practices. By improving productivity and reducing input costs, MITRA enhances farmers’ incomes and overall well-being. The initiative establishes community-owned platforms at the village level and utilizes a network of lead farmers to deliver last-mile connectivity. This approach ensures small and marginal farmers, often lacking access to agricultural extension services, benefit from improved practices and resources.
* Farmer Field Schools - In partnership with the Naandi Foundation, the company runs Farmer Field Schools to empower farmers working at coffee plantations in the Araku Valley region of Andhra Pradesh, India. * Community Health Intervention Program (CHIP) - The NICE Foundation’s CHIP initiative delivers primary, promotive, and preventive healthcare directly to the doorsteps of underserved rural populations who lack access to safe and reliable medical services. The medical team offers free medications to treat both common and communicable diseases. For cases requiring advanced medical care, patients are provided with appropriate referrals.
* Roshni Helpline - In collaboration with the Roshni Trust, the Roshni Helpline offers tele-counseling services to support emotional and mental well-being. For those in need, in-person counseling is also available at Roshni’s care center.
* Life at Your Doorstep - The Home-Based Palliative Care Program provides 24/7 palliative care for patients with advanced illnesses at their doorstep. It emphasizes climate-proofing livelihoods for vulnerable groups, including indigenous communities and women. By integrating mitigation and adaptation strategies, the program spans key sectors such as agriculture, water management, coastal ecosystems, smart energy solutions, and WaSH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), leveraging multi-stakeholder collaborations.
Objective: To empower rural communities to build climate resilience by adopting sustainable technologies and practices, increasing green coverage to enhance carbon sequestration, and improving soil moisture levels.
* Action for Climate and Environment (ACE) - ACE is dedicated to addressing the impacts of climate change on communities while enhancing their resilience to its challenges. The program employs diverse strategies to climate-proof the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers, encouraging the adoption of climate-smart technologies and sustainable farming practices to mitigate the adverse effects of climate variability.
* Conserving Tigers in the Eastern Ghats - This project focuses on the conservation of tigers and their habitats in the Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve and Amrabad Tiger Reserve through a collaborative, stakeholder-driven approach.
