GIVE has acquired Goodera India’s leading Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) business, a global leader in CSR grant management platform, to strengthen Give’s goal to make giving in India bigger and better through impactful developmental initiatives.
Give’s efforts to scale and direct corporate philanthropy towards lasting social solutions will get a massive boost with the addition of Goodera India’s 73-member team, 50+ clients and the grant management platform.
Mandated corporate giving
India became the first country in the world to legally mandate corporate social responsibility (CSR) when Section 135 of the Companies Act was passed in 2013.
According to an estimate, Indian companies have spent more than US$12.13 billion in CSR since the law came into force. This is set to multiply in the coming years. In a country that needs US$2.64 trillion to meet its United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, CSR represents a large pool of philanthropic capital and has the potential to play a crucial role in addressing some of India’s most intractable social problems.
Goodera India’s proven tech platform, used by corporates and NGOs globally, will facilitate smooth data collection, automate processes and allow financial audit and social impact assessment for every CSR grant given for social intervention. This will provide transparency and clarity, lifting the fog of any misrepresentation that might occur.
Plus, together with Give’s experience in the development sector over two decades, will bolster the support and expertise given to CSR teams across India. And most importantly, Give is committed to investing in products and services to grow the scope and impact of corporate social responsibility in India.
Over the last few years, Give has worked with 200+ corporate partners in their CSR goals, together with our 3,000+ nonprofit partners. Give will continue to invest in products and services to support your CSR objectives, and look forward to deepening our partnership in 2022 and beyond.
Taking the lead in CSR
Both organisations are leaders in enabling giving to support the outcomes of nonprofit programmes and the positive change they bring to communities. While Give has been empowering both institutions and individuals to give for the last 22 years, Goodera, established in 2014, is a global leader in CSR grant management platforms.
By integrating Goodera India’s CSR grant management product and processes, Give has strengthened its ability to impactfully contribute to this end.
Give CEO Atul Satija said: “I am personally very excited about the acquisition of Goodera India’s CSR platform as the grant management system they have built and firmly established will really help to speed up our mission of alleviating poverty in India. Our natural synergy in the social impact sector will strengthen our ability to support CSR teams to play a significant role in bringing positive change to millions of lives.”
