Lack of clean water leads to 2 lakh deaths annually

An estimated 600 million citizens, constituting 40% of India's projected population, are likely to face water stress by 2030. Water bodies are polluted mainly due to discharge of poorly treated sewage from cities/towns and industrial effluents.

70% waste goes to drains, landfills & waterways or is burnt

About 5% of the total collected waste is recycled, 18% is composted, and the remaining is dumped at landfill sites. Producing more than 25,000 tonnes of plastic waste every day, the plastic crisis in India is one of the worst in the world.
