Go Gold Punjab for Childhood Cancer

Gold Ribbon honors the bravery of children with cancer and their families since Gold is color of childhood cancer. Lighting prominent buildings/monuments in the month of September in GOLD colour is part of an international advocacy campaign, which represents an important message that “we care about kids with cancer and their families in the States, India and worldwide”. In the state of Punjab, it is estimated that there 800-1000 new reported cases, with another 80-100 from the UT of Chandigarh. Early success in area of childhood cancer has positive impact on the war against cancer that all Governments and Civil society must focus on.

1.2017 - April Onward. Official Partnership with Government of Punjab.

2.In partnership with Ministry of Health Medical Education, NHM and Cancer Centers & Medical Colleges. Appointment of Task Force.

3.Awareness campaign, sensitization workshops, In participation with Ministries of Health, Medical Education, 4.Official partnership for 6th CanKids Car Rally 2017, permissions; publicity; Punjab experience and Stay, participation.

5.Education, Women and Child, Information & Broadcasting, Tourism & Cultural Affairs, together with PHO Chapter of IAP.

6.LIGHT UP GOLD and GOLD RIBBONS and Pledge campaign at important venues – eg Golden temple and Waga border

7. Fundraising through CSR, Government Funding, & Rotary / Lions/ Round Clubs

1. Setting up an expansion of CanKids Hospital Support Units in Punjab and bridging the gaps .

2.Government help to make Change for Childhood Cancer a Child Health Priority.

3.Spreading Awareness throughout the Punjab by awareness material, street plays,sensitization workshops and media.

4.Tribute lighting at Wagah Boarder & Golden Temple.

5.Fund raising for children with cancer & their families.

6. Outreach to approximately 5-10 Lakh people through direct & indirect outreach & awareness tools.
