Team Everest started its journey in August 2006 when founder Karthee Vidya completed graduation and joined his first job. He donated from his first-month salary and collected funds from 3 of his friends to raise Rs 4000 to help children in a rural school in Tamilnadu. We used the funds to buy books and uniforms for the school kids there.After working in an IT company for 8 years, he quit his high paying job in 2014 to work full time on Team Everest.What started as a small activity, has taken wings over the last 14 years. Today, Team Everest work with 40,000 children a year with help from 25,000 proud Volunteers.Scholarships, Spoken English, Digital literacy, Soft Skill classes are some of their key initiatives. Bhumi

The organization was founded in 2005 by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Bhopinder Singh and Mrs. Winnie Singh with the goal of spreading awareness on essential health affecting information among members of India’s uniformed services and their families. This included sexually transmitted infections (STIs), tuberculosis and HIV/AIDs. Since then, Maitri soon expanded its work to include education and sensitization to end violence against women as well as citizenship rights and health issues concerning migrant populations. In 2008, Maitri came across a unique and an extremely vulnerable population in Vrindavan, widows who were victims of domestic violence, inflicted by their family members, including their sons and relatives and rendered homeless and destitute to live on the streets of Vrindavan, begging. It was a heartfelt need to support and bring dignity into the lives of the homeless, destitute and abandoned widows of Vrindavan. One can say it was a crucial moment in the history of Maitri and formed a benchmark to work towards identity, dignity and respect. In July 2010, Maitri launched Project Jeevan in Vrindavan, Jeevan symbolizes life, a life with dignity. Maitri translates as Compassion, loving-kindness. Hence compassion in life and addressing another human with loving kindness was the motto for the projects birth. The project’s aim has been to ensure identity, respect and dignity to the ageing, homeless, abandoned and destitute widows. Due to circumstances they have been left abandoned and left homeless, to survive begging on the streets of Vrindavan

Maitri

Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society (SHEOWS) is a "home away from home" for the abandoned elderly of our country. The organization is registered under the Society Registration Act of 1860 and the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act, of 1976. Since the last 20 years we have been providing free shelter, food, cloth, medical care, love, and affection to the destitute, abandoned, homeless, and PWD (Person with disability) elderlies with the help of generous and mindful people of our community.The Old Age Homes stand with a Special Care Unit, 24X7 Doctors and nurses, Physiotherapy unit, Pathology lab, Digital X-ray monitoring machine, an in-house Pharmacy, and all the necessary equipment required to treat any sort of illness or disease. All these facilities are provided to the elderly completely free of cost. Most of these elders are picked up from the streets of Delhi NCR or brought in by Police/hospital authorities.Our caregivers facilitate a homely environment in the Ashrams and ensure the socio-emotional well-being of the beneficiaries. SHEOWS is currently running 2 old age homes , Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram of Delhi and Garhmukhteshwar, since 2003 &amp; 2008 respectively. These are the homes of 600 elderly residents who were found alone and abandoned, left to die on the streets. In the last 20 years, we have served over 7,000 elders out of which more than 2,600 have been rehabilitated back to home.The aim is to serve every destitute, orphan, needy, abandoned, specially challenged elderly by providing them free shelter, food, clothes, healthcare, love, and respect. We uphold a strong belief that helping aged people and spreading awareness of elderly care would not only give them a new life but also reduce the issue of elder abuse in society.We believe in the notion of “Vasudeva Kutumbakam” which means that the whole world is our family and this inspires us to serve every needy old aged person as our own family member. Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society

Snehalaya has been working in rural India for almost three decades to bring rescue, rights and rehabilitation to those adversely affected by the commercial sex industry, poverty and droughts. We started rescuing trafficked and forced women and children from red light areas in 1989 and have been fighting HIV/AIDS, reducing 2nd generation prostitution by 100% and ensuring there are no minors working in the sex industry in our district ever since.Our mission statement is that every woman and child should have the right to a life free from inequality, cruelty and discrimination. We support around 20,000 beneficiaries a year through 19 rehabilitation, health and AIDS prevention, education and awareness-raising projects. We shelter 250 children of sex workers, minors rescued from sex work and those orphaned by or living with HIV. We provide a safe and supportive family setting, with our own school and HIV hospital. We also work in slum areas, run an organic farm for people living with HIV, provide rescue and adoption to abandoned babies. We are nationally recognised as a key healthcare provider for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) and also have an outstanding track record in education and sustainable social change.

Akshaya Trust - Introduction“Grow old gracefully” goes an old saying. But growing old is quite painful for many in the modern society. In many lower middle class and poor families, taking care of old people is becoming a major issue day by day. As a result, many senior citizens, who spent their entire life to bring up their children to give them better status in life, are seen as a burden to the family and are forced to search for new home.Akshaya Trust, has been doing a yeomen service to those destitute senior citizens by taking them into its fold, giving them shelter, healthy food, medical care and more importantly love and affection. Started by Mr. Gopalan, an industrialist, in the year 2001, Akshaya today houses 250+ senior citizens and provides them with all facility at free of cost. There is a full-fledged medical team of doctors and nurses visit the home regularly to keep the inmates healthy. Newspapers, magazines and TV are provided to engage and entertain the inmates. In case of any eventuality the home performs all the rituals if the inmate’s relatives don’t turn up.Motivated by the selfless service, many individuals and groups visit Akshaya regularly, support the Trust with donations and also spend time with the inmates entertaining them with music, games, bhajans and general conversations. Many people offer donations during their special days such as birthday, wedding day and memorial days of their relatives. Many families even come and celebrate their special days with the inmates.HIGHLIGHTS OF FACILITIES PROVIDED AT AKSHAYA OLD AGE HOMES·       Generator Installed: Power cut is a constant problem in the rural area where Akshaya is located. This results in discomfort to the inmates, especially during summers. Also, the water pumping and even cooking gets affected because of erratic power supply. To overcome this, with the donation from a well-wisher, Generator set has been installed, which can take care of the entire needs of Akshaya home.·       Cupboards provided: For storing personal things, inmates were using their own bags and suitcases, which becomes cumbersome for them and also becomes messy. To make it convenient for the inmates to store their personal belongings, individual cupboards are provided to every inmate.·       Audio system installed: The main entertainment for the senior citizens is listening to music, bhajans and discourses. Many volunteer groups visit Akshaya home regularly to conduct music performance, bhajan sessions and talk shows. To enhance these events and also to play music regularly, a professional audio system with amplifier and mics was installed and is being used very effectively.·       Mosquito Protection: Mosquito menace is a major problem in the area where Akshaya is located. Many times, this leads to spreading of diseases and also discomfort to inmates during sleeping. Looking at the problem, a set of well-wishers came forward to provide mosquito nets to the windows of the entire building. After this, the problem has greatly reduced.·       Solar water heater installed: As the inmates are aged persons, there is a constant need for hot water for bathing and drinking in addition to cooking. A considerable amount of power is consumed to make the hot water every month. To reduce the monthly power cost and also to become more eco-friendly, large solar water heaters are installed with the support of few donors. Now there is an uninterrupted supply of hot water throughout the day.·       Solar Power plant- All the three units are installed with solar power plant to save operating cost. These units not only supply to our units but also export the excess power to grid when it is not used.·       Festivals and Tours – All festivals are celebrated in grand way so that inmates don’t miss any occasion. The healthy inmates are taken out once in three months to temples, beach and important places in Chennai so that they enjoy their last part of life.·       Entertainment: Many volunteers individually as well as in groups, visit our homes at regular intervals and present music shows, bhajans, game shows, magic shows and so on to keep the residents engaged and entertained.Systems and Procedures·         All our payments are received and made through a special software custom made for us. The software also stores donors' database, residents' data. Reminders for donation are also automated through this software.·       95% payments are received and made through digital mode.·       We have a volunteer internal auditor who checks all our financial transactions on a regular basis.·       We have an internal audit to check the various operations (cleanliness, record maintenance, food quality, residence grievances, etc) on a regular basis.·       Feedback from the donors is obtained on a daily basis and our average score so far is above 4.5 out of 5. ·       We are fully compliant with Government regulations, with all the valid licenses (fire, sanitary, building stability, 80 g, 12 AA etc) to operate at every unit.·      Employee welfare is one of our important focus areas. For all our employees we have ESI, PF, bonus, gratuity, family medical insurance coverage, accident insurance policy, and many such welfare schemes.·       We have an objective appraisal system for evaluation of employee performance on a regular basis.·       We have systems and procedures for admission, procurement, demise of a resident, etc. Well documented SOP is available for various tasks.Present Units:At present Akshaya homes are running at four locations, Mudichur, Pallikaranai Valasaravkkam, Pallavakkam and Vellappanchavadi . All the five put together can house 300 + residents, which is the full capacity

Bhartiya Netraheen Kalyan Parishad is a registered NGO. for the all-around development of visually impaired boys &amp; girls. This NGO has helped visually impaired people for a long time. Bhartiya Netraheen Kalyan Parishad is a registered NGO. It came into existence on 28 February 1996 with its registration under Societies Registration Act. Right from its inception, it has been working perenially and unhindered for the holistic and all-round development of persons with special needs, especially the visually impaired. We have set up a goal of making every person with special needs self-reliant and instilling in him/her a feeling of self-dignity, pride, and aplomb so that all of them can be capable of associating themselves with the national mainstream and they can contribute to the development of the nation. Education is the pivot around which the development of a country takes place. In other words, we can say that it is education alone based on which the human development index of a country depends. So, in this direction, we are making significant efforts. Our Parishad is undertaking a residential bridge course for visually impaired children under the age group 6-14 years. It is being done in collaboration with Bihar Shiksha Pariyojana under SSA. These centers for residential bridge courses are located in Bhagalpur, Shekhpura, Lakhisarai, and Begusarai districts of Bihar. These children are getting education in life skills, elementary academics, mobility instruction, and daily life experiences. Our main motto is to include these children in social life after this basic instruction so that they can have the feeling of being an integral part of society. In the hostel, BNKPRI is also running a library for the visually impaired. This library has brail books on various subjects and audio CDs. Every year BNKPRI organizes a plethora of events like marriages of visually challenged couples, Hellen Keller Day, White Cane Day, World Disability Day, Kavi Sammelan, Dance Program of the visually challenged, etc.

Sethu Centre For Child Development And Family Guidance is a Charitable Trust based in Goa, India, to help all children get the best out of their lives, families, schools and communities to grow and develop. Sethu’s mission is to be a bridge between children and their families, schools and communities to foster their overall development through awareness, assessments, therapy, educational initiatives, training and capacity building in the community.Sethu's Work in Brief:<ul><li>Children in Goa have a facility where they can be assured of the best quality of care for developmental and behavioural health. Established in 2005, the Sethu Trust runs the Sethu Centre for Child Development and Family Guidance, which has been providing services to the community for over 16 years, through our child development and family guidance programme, early intervention for children with autism and other disabilities, innovative English education in Government primary schools, training programs for parents, teachers and other professionals, on-the-job training for students from various disciplines, networking with educational institutions, other organisations and the Government institutions and providing technical support through itinerant teaching to schools that practise inclusive education.</li><li>Since its inception, over 8700 children have been registered at the Sethu Centre for Child Development and Family Guidance, which caters to children with developmental, behavioural, emotional and learning difficulties, from birth to 19 years. Every year over 1000 children are attended to. A multidisciplinary team consisting of a developmental and behavioural paediatrician, child psychiatrist, autism interventionist, speech therapist, occupational therapist, behaviour therapist, psychologists, psychotherapist and administrative staff assess and manage the children and their families.</li><li>Training programs are a very important aspect of Sethu’s work, as the organisation believes in the capacity building of all who live with, care for or work with children. These training programs include group programs for parents of children with autism, workshops for Anganwadi workers of the Integrated Child Development Scheme of the Govt of India, the world’s largest mother and child health program and internships offered to students from diverse disciplines.</li><li>Sethu has also participated in policy-making through various Government committees in special education, general education and foster care.</li><li>In recognition of its service to society, Sethu was awarded the Navhind Times Viva Goa award for Social Empowerment 2010. As part of the celebrations of the Golden Jubilee of Goa's Liberation in 2011, Sethu was selected by the Govt of Goa to receive a grant of INR 25 lakhs under the Blessed Mother Tereza Benevolence Scheme. Recently on 19 Dec’ 2019, Sethu has been awarded by the Government of Goa – Directorate of Social Welfare with a State award for the best NGO.</li><li>One of Sethu's strengths is its strong administration which follows the principles of sound management. Sethu has 5 trustees who work entirely voluntarily administer the trust. The administrative team monitors all systems of management to ensure that team members adhere to proper planning and work schedules, accounting protocols are followed and excellence in service provision is achieved. Client appointments and clinical data are managed using applications and a Management Information System based on Access software.</li><li>Sethu is registered with the Dept. of Social Welfare, Govt, of Goa, the Income Tax Dept under section 12A and 80G, and has permanent registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) 2010 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. The organisation is empanelled with the Tata Institute for Social Sciences (National CSR Hub) for CSR grants, under the TISS AESDII (Assessment and Empanelment Standards for Development Institutions in India) and has been awarded the GuideStar Transparency Key.</li></ul>UNITED NATIONS: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDG): The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 which are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
