Team Everest started its journey in August 2006 when founder Karthee Vidya completed graduation and joined his first job. He donated from his first-month salary and collected funds from 3 of his friends to raise Rs 4000 to help children in a rural school in Tamilnadu. We used the funds to buy books and uniforms for the school kids there.After working in an IT company for 8 years, he quit his high paying job in 2014 to work full time on Team Everest.What started as a small activity, has taken wings over the last 14 years. Today, Team Everest work with 40,000 children a year with help from 25,000 proud Volunteers.Scholarships, Spoken English, Digital literacy, Soft Skill classes are some of their key initiatives. Bhumi

The organization was founded in 2005 by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Bhopinder Singh and Mrs. Winnie Singh with the goal of spreading awareness on essential health affecting information among members of India’s uniformed services and their families. This included sexually transmitted infections (STIs), tuberculosis and HIV/AIDs. Since then, Maitri soon expanded its work to include education and sensitization to end violence against women as well as citizenship rights and health issues concerning migrant populations. In 2008, Maitri came across a unique and an extremely vulnerable population in Vrindavan, widows who were victims of domestic violence, inflicted by their family members, including their sons and relatives and rendered homeless and destitute to live on the streets of Vrindavan, begging. It was a heartfelt need to support and bring dignity into the lives of the homeless, destitute and abandoned widows of Vrindavan. One can say it was a crucial moment in the history of Maitri and formed a benchmark to work towards identity, dignity and respect. In July 2010, Maitri launched Project Jeevan in Vrindavan, Jeevan symbolizes life, a life with dignity. Maitri translates as Compassion, loving-kindness. Hence compassion in life and addressing another human with loving kindness was the motto for the projects birth. The project’s aim has been to ensure identity, respect and dignity to the ageing, homeless, abandoned and destitute widows. Due to circumstances they have been left abandoned and left homeless, to survive begging on the streets of Vrindavan

Maitri

Share and Care Children’s Welfare Society is serving the needy children since 1984.The main objective is to impart education freely to the underprivileged, orphan children, girl, physically challenged people and children belonging to scheduled caste and tribes in remote villages.We run a crèche,a primary and a high school and impart free education to 200 children. Our School is recognized by the government of Tamilnadu, but not aided. Due to financial constraints, we are unable to pay our teachers and needs of the children are not being met as we wish. Since these children are from poor families they need support for their betterment in this competitive world.This project area is situated in Katchur village, Poondi Block in Tiruvellore district.The children from the remote village have no transportation facilities and most of their parents are illiterate and undernourished. The children need better care and good education to support their families and their communities at large.Our schools are functioning since 1990 exclusively for these children and are now educating 200 children.Most of them work as agricultural labourers, wood cutters. They have seasonal work and no regular job. Bonded labour and child labour still prevail. Sending their children to school is not that important for their parents because of poverty. Unless these children are brought to school by the lure of free transportation, education and mid-day meals, they have every possibility of dropping out.

Saint Hardyal Educational and Orphans Welfare Society (SHEOWS) is a "home away from home" for the abandoned elderly of our country. The organization is registered under the Society Registration Act of 1860 and the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act, of 1976. Since the last 20 years we have been providing free shelter, food, cloth, medical care, love, and affection to the destitute, abandoned, homeless, and PWD (Person with disability) elderlies with the help of generous and mindful people of our community.The Old Age Homes stand with a Special Care Unit, 24X7 Doctors and nurses, Physiotherapy unit, Pathology lab, Digital X-ray monitoring machine, an in-house Pharmacy, and all the necessary equipment required to treat any sort of illness or disease. All these facilities are provided to the elderly completely free of cost. Most of these elders are picked up from the streets of Delhi NCR or brought in by Police/hospital authorities.Our caregivers facilitate a homely environment in the Ashrams and ensure the socio-emotional well-being of the beneficiaries. SHEOWS is currently running 2 old age homes , Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram of Delhi and Garhmukhteshwar, since 2003 &amp; 2008 respectively. These are the homes of 600 elderly residents who were found alone and abandoned, left to die on the streets. In the last 20 years, we have served over 7,000 elders out of which more than 2,600 have been rehabilitated back to home.The aim is to serve every destitute, orphan, needy, abandoned, specially challenged elderly by providing them free shelter, food, clothes, healthcare, love, and respect. We uphold a strong belief that helping aged people and spreading awareness of elderly care would not only give them a new life but also reduce the issue of elder abuse in society.We believe in the notion of “Vasudeva Kutumbakam” which means that the whole world is our family and this inspires us to serve every needy old aged person as our own family member. Human Trafficking (HT) is the 2nd largest illegal trade in the world and the fastest-growing crime. While Trafficking in Persons (TIP) is a most heinous crime, it is also a multi-billion dollar business (estimated 32 billion USD). The stories are too gory, the emotions too painful and the violence inhuman. HT continues to thrive as the profits are high and risks are low.Purnata exists to address root causes and bring systemic change through a comprehensive prevention strategy. Trafficking in essence is a lucrative business but more a business that has criminal effects on the victims of trafficking. Any business is about demand and supply. Usually, the destination is where the demand is - most often our cities with booming economies. The source is where the supply is - mostly the backward, vulnerable pockets of our country where the gap between the rich and the poor is glaring in the face. Between the source and destination are the transit routes where abuse also occurs. Migration plays a key role in all this.Our perceived outcome through all that we do is to:1. Decrease the vulnerability of potential victims of HT in source areas2. Increase the risk to traffickers along trafficking routes.3. Decrease the demand for trafficked goods/services at DestinationPresently, in Mumbai, We run outreach programs through our Centre in the Red light areas of Sonapur, Bhandup &amp; Ghatkopar in Mumbai, where we run Day Care Centre for children and a Drop-In Centre for women of the red light areas, most of them victims of Human Trafficking. At various destination points across Mumbai, we work closely with victims. Our team visits Red light areas as Decoy customers and interacts with other customers to collect &amp; analyze their profiles to identify intervention points to reduce demand.Our Prevention strategy aims to reduce the vulnerability of potential victims of Human Trafficking in Source areas (currently in West Bengal and surrounding states), increase the risk to traffickers in transit routes, and decrease the demand for goods and services at destinations. Our Rescue efforts are mainly preventive, rescuing children in Transit before they get sold through surveillance at railway stations &amp; other nodal points. We also respond to clear rescue referrals from the Govt authorities or other civil society organizations.  As part of our Rehabilitation and reintegration strategy, we run a Rehab Home and training Center in Mumbai, that offers a 6-9 month adult literacy program apart from imparting life skills and livelihood training, preparing trainees to integrate into mainstream society by placing them in viable jobsSince February 2018, PURNATA has been formally appointed as a consultant and mandated by the “ Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation” in partnership with the Metro 3 consortium “ Maple General Consortium” to create awareness of HIV / AIDS and general health issues among all laborers working on the underground Metro 3 line which runs from Seepz in Andheri to Colaba in South Mumbai.Our Research in the first year pointed us to West Bengal and particularly North 24 Parganas as the major source area from where most women and minors are being brought to Mumbai. PURNATA has been focussing on reducing the supply of women and minors in this district. We are in the process of setting up a Prevention Hub in Barasat &amp; Bashihat, which will include a Training Center and, Rehab Home apart from implementing a Prevention strategy that facilitates the setting up of several ACT (vigilant) groups to help prevent the outflow of women and children trafficked to bigger cities.Critical to Purnata’s work are our Prevention and Rescue efforts alongside the concerned state and law enforcement agencies covering source, transit, and destination to create a higher risk for traffickers in transit routes to ensure safe and regulated migration.In the last 7 years, PURNATA has been able to assist 200 Vulnerable Individuals /Minors from falling prey to traffickers apart from rescuing over 60 victims of Trafficking, rehabilitating 35 survivors into mainstream society, helping arrange and witnessing 2 survivors get married, rescued, and arranged safe housing for 40 children at risk of being trafficked and brought awareness &amp; sensitization on Human Trafficking to over 100,000 people. During Covid &amp; the pandemic situation in 2020 &amp; 2021, Purnata, through our network of volunteers &amp; community groups was able to provide Care Packets ( consisting of a Dry ration &amp; hygiene essentials, sufficient to sustain a family of 4 - 6 members for 4 weeks ) to more than 5000 vulnerable families consisting of commercial sex workers, rag pickers, rickshaw pullers, HIV Patients, daily wage earners &amp; migrant workers, translating to over 15,00,000 nutritious meals in Mumbai, Chikli, Kolkata &amp; North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Immediately after the completion of the Food Distribution, post June 2020, Purnata in Mumbai, along with its Medical partner has been organizing Medical camps once a month in both the Sonapur Red Light Area &amp; Ghatkopar Red Light Area, where women, children, and their immediate families are tested &amp; advised on further medical provisions. Purnata has facilitated &amp; ensured that more than 100 women in the Sonapur red light area are enrolled for a monthly stipend from the State Government. To ensure that the children get a nutritious meal every day, Purnata has Partnered with the Food Delivery App “Zomato“ to provide one nutritious meal to over 100 children each in the Sonapur &amp; Ghatkopar Red Light Area daily along with a protein supplement eggs / Fruit. In partnership with Global Fund for Children, Purnata was able to initiate a Home Based Care program among communities in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, where our trained 10-member community volunteer teams reached out to local families in every community, equipping them as 1st respondents to the second &amp; third wave of the Pandemic. We stocked adequate medical provisions in every community to respond to any medical emergency. In Mumbai, in partnership with the local city Administration, Purnata facilitated a vaccination drive where 198 women from the Sonapur Red Light in Bhandup were inoculated with their 1st dose &amp; 140 with the 2nd dose of the covishield vaccine at a special vaccination camp organized by the city administration at our Sonapur center. Purnata was also selected by the Municipal Administration to facilitate a vaccination drive for the Transgender community living in the Eastern Suburbs of Mumbai.

SOS Children's Village of India

Bhavada Devi Memorial Philanthropic Trust, SENEH is working for the most under privileged and deprived section of society, mainly women. The main activity of ‘Seneh’ is running a home for Destitute old Women at Guwahati. The residents of Seneh were mostly pavement dwellers who had no Shelter, Means of Sustenance or anyone to care for. The women had myriads of ailments some physical, others both mental and physical. The intensity of their sufferings in the past can be understood from the fact that in case of four out of 27 residents , but for seneh’s intervention, they would have probably died in a few hours. Nine were picked up from the streets in complete mental deranged conditions, treated as in patient in local psychiatric hospital for varying periods. Now they are cured and are leading somewhat normal lives with of course regular psychiatric medication.The residents of Seneh are given shelter, food, complete medical care, clothing, means of entertainment, all absolutely free.The other activities of the trust are as follows.a.	Provision of yearly stipend to the top ranking girls from each class in a Girls school in remote, extremely poor area.b.	Distribution of Sanitary pads free to 500 adolescent girls studying in different schools of remote and under privileged areas.c.	Provisions of free breakfast to about 150 attendants of Cancer patients of General ward of local Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Hospital, Guwahatid. Disaster relief work for flood victims as well as in Covid times by providing food, drinking water, mosquito nets and clothing items in remote areas of the state of Assam .

Bhavada Devi Memorial Philanthropic Trust, SENEH

Palawi project under Prabha-Hira Pratishthan was established in 2001 at Pandharpur. It provides a Care Home for orphan children living with HIV. Palawi believes that all children have a fundamental rights to a loving, fun-filled childhood with access to health, education, and a safe and stigma free environment. Palawi has given a lifetime commitment to provide for their educational, nutritional, medical and recreational needs. We also aim at bringing awareness on HIV/AIDS and to sensitize the general population to the prevalence of HIV.Mrs Mangal Shah is the founder and trustee of Palawi. Its been 18 years now since inception of Palawi in 2001 when two girl child were found abandoned in a cow- shed. The deserted infants were HIV positive. Mrs Mangaltai began to provide her love, care and support to such children with open arms. The initial period of her work was no less than any struggle but her strength, hard work and commitment towards orphaned and abandoned HIV positive made Palawi a living example.Mangaltai believes that curbing the HIV epidemic necessitates broadening the scope of services beyond health, to encompass nutrition, psycho-social support, education, legal, livelihood and social protection. Currently, 126 children are living here happily.In this process of bringing in positive changes the lives of HIV positive children, Mangaltai’s daughter Dimple Ghadge, Rajkumar Ghadge (son in law) and her son Ashish Shah have given absolute support in running of the institution.And now Mangal Tai's grandchildren Tejas Dimple Ghadge is joined Palawi after completing Masters in social work.
