The objective of the SE Programme is to generate awareness, through advocacy, about Persons with Disability (PwD); identify and assess children ( to include young adults) with intellectual & other developmental disabilities (such as, but not limited to Autism, Cerebral Palsy & Down Syndrome); educate & train children with disabilities (CwD) to realise their potential; and facilitate their rehabilitation in the family and community.
On campus facilities and services include:
· Assisted independent living in a simulated ‘home’ environment for young adults – separately for 4 girls & 4 boys.
· Residential facilities, separately for 60 girls & 60 boys.
· SE School cum Day Care Centre with a capacity for 150 CwD to include non-residents to include an early intervention centre, class rooms, a sensory room, a library, a computer laboratory, and vocational training and therapeutic services.
The focus on campus is on functional academics; language and communication skills; and the acquiring of daily living, house-hold, domestic & vocational skills. The emphasis, throughout, is on ‘inclusive’ learning and activity.
