NFBM Jagriti School for Blind Girls

Education, Training & Rehabilitation are the three most critical aspects for every blind individual.. There are 70 schools in the state of Maharashtra which cater to the special needs of the visually challenged. Nearly 6000 students are enrolled with this schools .In order to cater to the key requirement of building lives of the young blind beneficiaries the NFBM established the "NFBM Jagriti School for Blind Girls" on January 4, 1989.

This school is situated at Alandi Devachi, Dist. Pune. At present 110 blind girls are housed in this school. 99% of our students come from rural areas. This school provides free education, lodging, boarding facilities to its deserving students. Regular academic coaching is given to children here along with provision for learning extra curricular skills like training in Information Technology, vocational training, craft, sports training, cultural skills & communication. Home science, orientation and mobility and music classes are specialties of this institution 

In order to full fill its objective of providing a dignified life to its beneficiaries our institution is in need of financial support from generous donors and patrons who can take the financial responsibility of our deserving students.

In order to fulfill its objective of providing a quality life to its beneficiaries by empowering them with education, constant mentoring and guidance the NFBM Jagriti school has been seeking support from a no of corporate and individual donors. With donor patronage we have been able to realize of dream of building a state of the art Career Orientated Education Campus for our VI beneficiaries. The campus comprises of a barrier free and user friendly school building and a skill development Center. We are in the process of constructing a well equipped dwelling facility which will house 175 visually impaired girls children and provide them with a home away from home.

Ever since its inception he NFBM Jagriti school for blind girls has to its credit a performance history of 31 years . In the year 1998 this institution produced its first batch of std 10th students with a 100% result, a tradition which has been continued by our teachers and students for the last 22 years. Out of the 335 alumni of this institution 65 are gainfully employed in various sectors for instance , teaching, banking, Insurance, software etc. 5 of our students have set up small business and our self employed one of our student has cleared the MPSC exam and is employed with GST department of Maharashtra state, 2 are preparing for the UPSC exams and I is aspiring to be an Chartered Accountant. Most of our other students have chosen to pursue their higher education and are being supported by our institution both financially and otherwise in order to stride a head in the direction of leading our students to a confident , dignified and financially independent life . We appeal to the community at large to come forward and strengthen our organisations capacity by their generous contributions
