Story

Despite the long strides our healthcare systems have made over the past decades, there are still many families left behind that are unable to reap the benefits of the modern world

  1. Less Fortunate  Families don’t have enough resources to provide healthy and nutritious food to their children
  2. Not Enough Knowledge – Lack of awareness about food nutrition results in depriving children of the required calorie need
  3. High Mortality Rate – Lack of healthy food has drastically increased the risk of life for children living in a marginalised society

Lack of nutrition in children less than 6 years affects the health and academic performance in later years. Our children are the future generation. They will be the backbone of our society. It is our responsibility as a society to nurture them and provide them with the resources required to lead a healthy life.

Project Motto: To work towards our goal of "Healthy Child Healthy Society"

SHAPE India will target 2,000 less fortunate children in resettlement colonies in South, South East and South West districts of Delhi per year. We have a robust strategy which focuses on:

Clean and Hygienic Kitchens

  • Hygiene is the utmost priority
  • Kitchens equipped with safety guidelines
  • Fresh ingredients used to cook meals

Robust Delivery

  • Our kitchens are set up in the resettlement colonies to ensure the timely delivery of hot cooked meals
  • Steel containers used to ensure hot meals are delivered

Nutritious Food

  • We have a menu planned for each day which meets the daily calorie and protein requirement for children as per the Food Nutrition Board (Ministry of Women & Child Development)

Our Cyclic Menu (For Children between 1-6 years)

  • Menu 1 Halwa (Suji, Peanuts, Raisins, Jaggery)
  • Menu 2 Vegetable Pulao (Soyabean, Carrot, Peas) with Black Channa
  • Menu 3 Khichdi (Seasonal vegetables)
  • Menu 4 Sweet dalia with peanuts
  • Menu 5 Rice and mixed pulses
  • Children below 1 year - 140 gm Panjeeri (Atta, Besan, Jaggery, Peanuts)

With our Nourishing Future program, we wish to create a society where no child sleeps hungry at night. With our consistent and persistent approach, we will target to:

  1. Improve the health status of children in the age group 0-6 years
  2. Reduce mortality, morbidity, malnutrition and school dropout rates
  3. Enhance mothers' capability by providing nutrition education for taking care of the child's health
  4. Lay the foundation for proper psychological, physical and social development of the child
  5. Put a smile on a child’s face
