ADHARSHILA’S FAMILY HEALTH CENTRE

Adharshila’s family health center aims at improving overall health outcomes by treating urban and semi-urban low-income families, expanding outreach of health services through mobile support services and promoting preventive health care by increasing awareness of osteoporosis, hypertension, Diabetes, Cancer, anemia, methods of family planning and birth spacing, sexual and reproductive health, menstruation, and by forming support groups for families of alcoholics and educating them on alcoholism as a disease.

In-person doctor consultations are provided to patients in family medicine, ophthalmology, gynecology, dermatology and homeopathy in lieu of a small token fee. Prescribed medications are given free of cost. Radiology and pathology tests are provided at nominal costs through a partnership with Path labs. It's hard for people from poor economic backgrounds to have access to basic healthcare services.

The objective of the Adharshila Family Health Centre is to improve overall health outcomes through a comprehensive health delivery program in the slums, urban and semi-urban villages of Delhi NCR to reach the economically weaker sections.

The project will aim to do the following:

1. To treat urban and semi-urban low-income families;
2. To expand the outreach of health services through mobile support services;
3. To promote preventive health care by increasing awareness of osteoporosis, hypertension, Diabetes, Cancer, anemia, methods of family planning and birth spacing, sexual and reproductive health, menstruation, and by forming support groups for families of alcoholics and educating them on alcoholism as a disease.

Through our approachable, affordable and single window quality health care program, 1,88,332 opd’s have been treated over a decade (from 2007 to 2019) which helped decrease the rate of miscarriages, and infant mortality. Preterm deliveries decreased by 4%, and institutional deliveries by 10% due to our quality antenatal care and nutrition counseling.

●   Reduced old age burdens by providing endocrine disorders related care to reduce old-age ailments.

●   Awareness of various serious health issues such as cancer, menstruation, sanitation, and hygiene has resulted in an enormous economic impact by saving losses of daily wages to the tune of Rs.3,80,42,028/- (avoided loss) and enabled family savings to the tune of Rs.7,60,84,055/-.

●   4 % decrease in the rate of miscarriages & preterm deliveries.

●   10 % rise in Institutional deliveries.

●   15 % rise in Normal deliveries due to proper natal care and nutrition counseling.

●   Increased success with infertile cases.

●   Improved Reproductive Health.

●   Increased acceptance of family planning and birth spacing.

●   Reduced burden on the universal health care system by offering primary health care facilities.
