Story

The condition of people who are visually challenged is dismal in India. Visually challenged young women, in particular, need mentoring, guidance and support which is not available in the rural hinterlands of India.

Visually challenged people need the right kind of support so that they can lead their lives with dignity. They require a nurturing environment, instead of one where they are pitied and looked down upon. The girls who live in the hostel provided by the LifeLine care organisation are supported by the facilities and modern amenities they need so that they can complete their education without stress or pressure. 

All the boys and girls residing in the LLCO Hostel are encouraged to complete their education. They are constantly guided to choose a course of their interest but at the same time encouraged to go to a normal inclusive educational institution so that they can learn about the day to day challenges of living with blindness. The day to day training and mentoring of the girls' student is such that they are able to take pride in their abilities and reduce their dependencies on others.
