Citizenship Education Programme

The main gap we are aiming to fill is that citizens lack information and understanding of their rights and responsibilities and are not wholly skilled in using Constitutional framework in addressing their personal, social and governance problems.

They are also not able to connect Constitutional values to their everyday life and therefore unable to completely own these values and fully play out their role. 

To address this gap, we work on two programme areas: Citizenship Education Programme and Constitution Connect.

The Citizenship Education Programme (CEP) is a capacity building programme that helps citizens understand constitutional values, rights and responsibilities, governance frameworks along with a strong focus on individual and community-based action.

Constitution Connect (CC) is our outreach programme on awareness about the Constitution. We facilitate multiple events, online and on-ground, across the country on topics like the Preamble, Fundamental Rights and Duties.

Our USP is our content, methods and delivery. The content focuses on the link between the Constitution and the everyday lives of the targeted citizens. So, it is absolutely rooted in their context.

Our methods are interactive, experiential, reflective and practical. We train trainers and facilitators on this content and methods so that it becomes embedded in institutions and communities.

Through the CEP we have worked with more than 250 partners – educational institutions and NGOs, and trained more than 500 facilitators impacting more than 25,000 people directly.
