- Om Creations Trust is a non-profit organization working for the upliftment of mentally/ challenged adults since 1991. Om Creations has widened its scope recently – from working with the mentally challenged to including those with multiple disabilities as well as individuals belonging to the economically and socially deprived sections of the society as such individuals comprise a large part of the Indian population.
- Om Creations Trust believes in promoting a life of dignity and self-worth for the above marginalized and downtrodden members of the society. They are subject to multiple deprivations and limited opportunities in several dimensions of their lives. Some of their barriers include, difficulty in getting enrolment in school, lower employment rates, limited awareness of entitlements /services available and lack of social welfare support due to which they remain marginalized
- Om Creations believe that addressing these barriers is within their reach and therefore we all have a moral duty/responsibility to do so......But most importantly, addressing these barriers will unlock the potential of these individual who in turn will become contributing, productive citizens of our country
- Governments alone can no longer run programs for the hundreds of millions of people in need of help, who are denied access to health, rehabilitation, support, education, and employment—and never get the chance to shine. It is, therefore, our duty to bridge this gap and give them an opportunity to succeed in their lives.
- In the course of its journey of two decades, Om Creations has carved a unique management practice of running an integral social enterprise. population. Om Creations ensures training and livelihood of mentally challenged adult women by setting up workshop facility through its two departments – Art, Craft and Food.
- Under the guidance and supervision of specialist teachers and volunteers, these women engage in producing a range of high-quality art as well as food products that have a market value and provide therapeutic impact to the beneficiaries.
- The organization showcases and utilizes the creativity of the developmentally challenged into making utilitarian products with the aid of modern methodologies and scientific management, thus allowing them to be economically independent and live as productive members of society.
- Om Creations has over a period of time created not only an impressive brand in the market through sustained efforts resulting in a viable, sustainable business model.
- The organization promotes inclusiveness in society by facilitating economic empowerment of mentally challenged women, promoting their creativity and supporting them to live a life of dignity.
- Om Creations is now on its way to open Om Abode Social an innovation Institute with a multi-functional ecosystem for marginalized and special needs individuals across a spectrum of age groups and disabilities. It has a state-of-the-art skill development centre, a full-fledged residential campus and a host of related facilities, the Institute stands out for its inclusive approach and its unique integrated learning methodology. This can only come true by involving all stakeholders and by integrating the local population into the program.
