Sponsor Creative Computer Science Education for Government School Students

In India 76% of all schools are still without computers, forcing a staggering number of students to have no formal computer science education.In the era of Artificial Intelligence, computer science is not even mandated as a separate subject for the majority of education boards in India. Almost 90% of under-resourced schools lack computer science teachers and of those who do, computer science curriculum is mostly limited to word processors or spreadsheets and in rare instances to basic programming. Underdeveloped creative mindsets, outdated skills and a general lack of preparedness amongst students results in them falling short of the required skills essential to thrive in the rapidly evolving, technology-powered 21st century workspace. 

To build futuristic skills in students from under-resourced schools, we leverage our award-winning and affordable Pi Lab program that ensures optimum student learning outcomes. The program aims to develop design thinking, programming, problem-solving and computational thinking that serve as essential skills in all walks of their life. Our Pi Lab is a part of the regular school curriculum where a child gets 2 hours per week of robust computer science education throughout the year. The grade-specific curriculum terminates with an annual computer science showcase where students get the opportunity to present and exhibit their solution prototypes for real world problems.

We envision to create students from under-resourced schools as digitally well-equipped problem-solvers who are better prepared for the future. We aim to create platform where each and every student can explore the possibilities of computer science and leverage our high performing Pi Lab program. We have setup 40 Pi Labs and impacted 8000+ students at under-resourced school so far. We have had students who were afraid to touch a computer, but one year down the line are equipped enough to code their way to solutions for their routine problems spanning across sustainability, education, climate change and others. Through this support, we seek to support Pi Lab programs for 1000 students at under-resourced schools.
