“ Shashi Pathshala” The Digital Class Room for Underprivileged children

In India, less than half of the children between 6 and 14 years of age go to school. Also, among these children, many of them are not imparted with the basic knowledge and skills necessary for their overall development. Even at home, their parents are not able to help them out in their studies as they themselves are not that educated and also they have to work laboriously to feed their families. This lack of quality education and thereby lack of proper career guidance for these underprivileged children push them into vulnerable conditions.

Shashi Dream Foundation since its inception has been extending support to underprivileged children by the most powerful weapon of education. Our initiative 'Shashi Pathshala' is delivering quality education to the underprivileged children at Katol and Sawargaon in Maharashtra through physical as well as virtual community centres. We have even extended our roots in Jamui, Bihar. Our volunteers help them understand various concepts at the community centres in a way that they can keep pace with the other students. Even in a pandemic, digital classrooms provided relief to these children. Through our initiative 'Shiksha', a distribution drive of books and other stationery materials to encourage children towards studies is being carried out. 

Shashi Dream Foundation has been positively impacting the lives of 300 underprivileged children at its community centres. We want to expand our reach to other cities pan India aiming to create 5+ community centres in the foreseeable future so that no deserving child is left out in the ever-changing world. The foundation aims to provide quality education to them so that they can speak fluently in their mother tongue as well as English. Thereby they would be able to better grasp the concepts and comfortably complete their homework. They would be able to know their strengths and weaknesses and thereby would be able to make decisions about their career. Quality education is what all they need and SDF is acting as a bridge between their present and future.
