Rapid Response Funding for Covid - 19

India, a developing country, has 90% of its working population who are in the unorganized sector, mainly daily wage earners or self-employed. With sudden announcement of lock-down for 21 days, it affects the most vulnerable and leaves the daily wage earner with no livelihoods, implying no access to food and income security. Most of these people live in a cramped up housing situation i.e. slums and shanties, where the density of people is high, where distancing as per the ideal suggestions is practically impossible. Considering, the cases detected are largely amongst the rich or middle class, once it reaches slums, it will spread like a fire, considering the space crunch leaving distancing almost impossible.

 Providing Ration kits for vulnerable families.

 Providing Hygiene Kits for the families to prevent risk of contamination.

 Creating Community leaders network which will provide urgent emergent information for next level of need/action.

 Education for community awakening to prevent the spread of COVID- 19

*We are submitting this proposal for co-funding. Janvikas will be contributing to administrative cost, salary, infrastructure, transportation, awareness & empowerment and fundraising expenses.

 Ensuring supply of basic essential to most needy households for sustainable living.
