Empower Rural Children Through Holistic Education

The Project seeks to reduce illiteracy and child labour and Empower rural children by helping (Thiruppathur, Singampunari, Kottampatti, Ponnamaravathy, Thirumayam blocks of Sivaganga, Madurai and Pudukkottai ) St.Joseph Matriculation School run by Annai Charitable and Educational Trust, through Scholarship assistance to pay their tuition fee and extra curricular fee. The children in these aspire for a quality Education so as to enter the competitive society. These children lack good schools with Holistic education. We Annai Charitable and Educational Trust being Non-profit Trust carries out educational and charitable activities in the most backward areas of Pudukkottai district for most of its activities, it depends on the contribution of its Trustees and Philanthropists  in the locals. We too raise donations from public in partnership with Give India through their fund raising platform. We are unable to serve more number of poor children due to lack of funds.

We are doing a number of initiatives with a view to reducing illiteracy and child labour in our areas. Right now our trust has been helping more than 150 poor students with educational materials such as uniform, Note books, Guides, Instrument box or with Remedial and coaching classes with a mission to empower rural children through Holistic Education. Even now we have admitted more number of socially excluded poor children of agricultural and other coolie worker and children of Srilankan refugees. We need scholarship assistance for their education and extra curricular activities. We teach Yoga, Karate, Arts, Judo, Skating, Silambam, Bharatham, Communicative skills, Calligraphy etc. 400 children perform well in studies and sports. They show progress in mental health status along with academics.

Devaganesh is an 18 years old boy successfully doing his college studies in Pudukkottai who is supported by Annai Charitable and Educational Trust, Venthanpatti. When he was in fifth grade in St.Joseph School he and his mother were deserted by his father and denied to support his studies. Meanwhile, he and his mother approached the Annai Charitable and Educational Trust for educational support. The Non Profit organisation decided to care and support Devaganesh's educational career. He was an average scorer in studies and excel in sports. He has been achieved state level in karate, District level in Judo, Silambam, Boxing, and Athletics.After the completion of 10th grade in St.Joseph Matriculation School, The trust supported in higher secondary Education. Now the non-profit organization is continuously supporting for Degree programme. He is pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Physical Education in one of the reputed colleges in the district. He is aspiring to be an IPS officer in future. Annai Charitable & Educational Trust always being guiding star for those aspiring poor students.
