On 24 March 2020, the Prime Minister announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown. As the nation stepped into a three-week lockdown due to the pandemic crisis, the most impacted are the crores of people who are daily wage earners, the underprivileged and those homeless children not knowing where and when their next meal will be.

Responding to this humanitarian cause, a group of like-minded professionals has come together to give back to the people. Feed My City was thus conceptualized with one simple mission – Ensure people don’t go hungry.

HungerBox has unconditionally opened up their kitchens, and their staff has offered its services to cook sumptuous meals with fresh ingredients every day. These meals are then dispatched to various locations across the city and are distributed to people while adhering to the strictest form of social distancing protocol. Starting small with 500 meals in Bangalore, we have now served over 8.30 lakh meals, across Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, and Noida. Currently, we are serving around 95,265 meals a day.

Our goal is to ensure the underprivileged people of our city and also to the unnamed stars who are out there in these difficult times working tirelessly to keep us safe do not go hungry. We are targeting to serve over 30 lakh meals totally. We aim to extend our help to the needy across other cities of the nation as well with the objective of keeping the poor families from starving. We realize this is the time to say ‘THANK YOU’ to the nation and its people, who have all been a part of our journey, and made us what we are today.
